Simon Says Stamp & Show ~ A Word!

Good Morning!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend and ready for this week's theme...

A WORD
Inspired by Rachel Jackson's article in Craft Stamper this month I decided to try my hand and alter an old book! Well actually it's an old dairy from 2006 that I just didn't use. So, after creating an opening at the front I have collaged the cover with strips torn from old book pages and applied with Claudine Helmuth's Matte Medium. Then coloured with Aged Mahogany, Black Soot and Walnut stain DI.

The central torn pages have been inked with a little vintage photo. The main image is from Tim's Papillon Stamps and sprayed with a little Heirloom gold perfect pearls mist.

The flower is made using Tim's tattered florals die, the leaves from Wendy's stamp and both cut from the Lost and Found card stack.

The Bookplate has been covered with sticky metal foil tape, adhered to grungeboard, embossed and aged with paint dabbers. The 'Fly' word is die cut from the same metal tape and I've added a couple of mini brads too!

Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the amazing team!!!

Kim, this looks amazing! Unfortunately, for some reason, my computer won't show the photo of the entire book - not on your blog or the SSSS blog. Such a pity because the photos I can see are knocking me out. I love how you did the center of that book. Have to try that!

This is super gorgeous, Kim. You have done such a wonderful job on it - especially the way you hollowed out the center. The tissue tape looks great on the front too! Now you've got me wanting to have a go at this technique too!

Did you know that your project isn't showing up on the SSSS blog? It's not there on the DT blog either. It's a shame because we want everybody to see this beauty!

Hugs,
Linda

ok, first I must pick my jaw up off of the floor. This piece of art is simply amazing, wonderful, breath-taking, and stunning. I love how you altered the book/dairy, and those details are simply amazing and that flower is something I would love to see how you created.

This is awesome... I love how you left the inside of the pages all tattered. And the colors of the butterflys against the vintage browns are beautiful!
