Basic Grey - Follow the sketch

Challenge 20 - Follow the Sketch
This week we have another sketch for you to follow, you can resize and even flip the sketch but please make sure that the original sketch can be recognized easily in your creations, feel free to also add any other embellishments etc to your creations and of course not forgetting to use at least one item from BasicGrey

Such a cute image and I have quite a few men's cards I need to make and thought this was just perfect for one... to remember being a little boy with his bucket full of water! I have coloured him with copics but the versafine ink has smudged a little may need to invest in better ink pad but it's the texture on the paper as it doesn't smudge on my other!

I didn't mean for the pieces to be quite so angled and they stuck fast before I could adjust them. I used grosgrain ribbon for one layer fixing with eyelets to the paper!

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - Granola, Heavy weight cartridge,
Stamps: Sugar Nellie - Simon in shorts,
Die's: Nestabilities - long rectangle,
Ink: Versafine black, colourbox - dark moss, copic markers, distress inks,
Other: BasicGrey - Boxer buttons, natural string, Grosgrain ribbon's, Eyelets and Big Bite, edge distresser, 3D foam,

Thanks for stopping by and you wonderful comments I will hope fully get time later to pop around all your blogs, Have a great Saturday, HuGs Kim x

2Sketches4you and DCM Hearts

The Dare over at DCM this week is to include hearts so I've made lots of hearts not to dissimilar to the border sticker included in the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection. I have used the fabulous sketch #18 over at 2Sketches4you by the very talented Laura, thank you!

This stamp it just too cute and who could possibly resist inking it up as soon as it comes through your letterbox? I have paper pieced the image using bittersweet papers and copic markers to colour the rest! She has been raised on 3d foam and embellished with Sakura Stardust and stickles. You should be able to see the sparkle in one of the close ups!

The border of hearts is die cut from different patterned paper inked around edges and raised on 3d foam. The background paper has lots of hearts over and the stamp sticker in the corner has a heart flower (think that covers the heart theme!) The sentiment is die cut. I have been playing with my camera the weather just makes photos really poor! Click on pictures for a close up!

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - Bittersweet, heavy weight cartridge,
Stamps: The Greeting Farm -
Angel Anya,
Die's: Nestabilities - Circle's, Sizzix - Hearts, Endless love alphabet,
Ink: Distress inks, sakura - stardust, stickles, copic sketch markers,
Other: Basic Grey bittersweet stickers, Adhesive gems and Bling, 3D foam,

Inspiration Sketches DT Call and 2S4Y too...

The wonderful creatively talented Dawn has started a new Sketch blog Inspirational Card Sketches.
Dawn is looking for 6 creative people to be her design team on her sketch blog, so if you think you might be interested, or just want to use sketches to work on your own cards, hop on over and check out her DT call!

Well Dawn, I had so much fun with this card! I have used (experimented) with a few new craft items too. The Main bloom I have cut from Tim's plain Grungeboard (wow this stuff is sooooo fun and it stinks... but in the nicest leathery way!) I have used distress inks to colour grungeboard and for the center I have used micro beadz with glossy accents, think it would have been nice with a touch of glitter! It feels so tactile, like smooth velvet you just can't see it in the picture!

The paper is so obviously my new love... October Afternoon, which has been cut and inked and raised and embellished with a touch of lace! The sketch has been finished off with a rub on sentiment and Bling!

Materials:

Paper: October Afternoon - Daydream collection, heavy weight cartridge, Plain Grungeboard.
Die's: Sizzix - Large Daisy#3, Nestabilities - Square,
Ink: Distress inks - spiced marmalade, mustard seed, colourbox - dark moss,
Other: Provo Craft - Art Accentz micro beadz, Birthday sentiments - rubons, glossy accents, lace from stash (hobby craft), 3D foam, adhesive Bling!

What? another card? two cards in one post... gosh,
here's my card using this weeks sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You it's from the very talented Kazan and what a fab sketch! Gorgeous cards as always from Kazan and the Design Team, they are such an inspiration...

I have been itching to use this paper for a while.. I love it's rich warm summer colours! I stamped the sentiment in brilliance ink and cut and raised. The swirl is cut from glitter card which I have tried to recolour using alcohol inks, although I have all but three colours... I think it tones well and it still sparkles not that you can see it in the picture!

My faux stitching on the edge I have banjaxed and am not happy with. The flower layer is so fun I have used plastic shapes from American crafts and finished it off with a gorgeous MM velvet Brad, so pretty...

Materials:
Paper: K&Co - Mira Speciality Paper pad, heavy weight cartridge, DCWV - glitter sheet.

Basic Grey - My Sweet Valentine's

I really wanted to get all this uploaded earlier but I've had such a busy weekend! My baby turned five yesterday... wow we've been entertaining and partying everyday and still have a little lunch party to go to tomorrow! So much fun....

Challenge 18 - Digi Print Challenge

We have a special challenge for you this week, we would like to see you use one (or all if you want to) of my illustrations (Only people taking part in this challenge are allowed to use these images (for now anyway) and of course when the challenge is over you can continue to use them if you wish but please remember that these images are copyright to me and should only be used according to my terms of use), oh and course not forgetting to use at least one item from BasicGrey somewhere on your creation :)

So here's my creation with my illustrations hope I did myself justice... I drew this boy as a shy boy giving his valentine's a gift without being soppy or in any way romantic, notice the blush on this shy boy's face? So typical!

I printed the image onto a heavy weight cartridge but it came out a little faint, I used my copic markers to colour the rest and cut with my labels die, with the die in place then inked the edges with distress inks! The card base I have stamped with script stamp and distress inks!

The word Valentine's I printed directly onto basic grey patterned paper. I then cut out and laid it to the back of the darker paper to draw around. I cut just a little away from the pencil line so that I could achieve a shadow effect! The cut out word has been raised on 3D foam and I've highlighted with white gel pen and added shadow with grey marker to distinguish between the letters!!

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - Bittersweet, heavy weight cartridge,
Stamps/image: My drawings - Shy Boy, Valentine's, Script
Die's: Nestabilities - Labels 1,squares, sizzix - neet knacks,
Ink: Distress inks, sakura - pastel, copic sketch markers,
Other: Doodlebug - rubons, edge distresser, Adhesive gems and Bling, 3D foam,

I hope you like and get a chance to have a go. It's such a wonderful feeling to see such talented designers using my sketches, WOW our design team has done some amazing creations hope you have a look! Thanks you!

So... onto some other big news, As you know I am a member of the wonderfully talented design team over on Basic Grey Challenges blog and I took the chance and entered one of my card's into the Basic Grey gallery and I received an email to tell me it was accepted so off you go and have a look at my card in the Official Basic Grey Gallery! Woo Hoo! I would like to thank Martine of course for her wonderful sketch, you've helped make it all possible! Thank you sweetie x!

If you made it down to here, thank you, and I'm really looking forward to seeing all your wonderful creations! Hope you have a great weekend, Happy HuGs Kim x

2S4Y - Ooh La La, Fancy Cake

Over at 2sketches4you this weeks sketch was provided by the talented Laura and I had to have ago. I used some gorgeous October afternoon papers which I have been eyeing all over cards lately! Here's my take on Sketch 17...

This stamp was one of my gift from Katharina, it's such a fun image and I coloured mine with sakura pens, the pastel, glaze and stardust, I blended with the clear glaze and my water brush, I'm quite please with the result as I don't have a vast colour range of pens! You can just make out the sparkle in the close up and after I cut it out I applied glossy accents!
I used some papermania acetate sheet for the tag and very surprised at how beautifully it cut with my nestability dies! I then applied BG rubons and finished with a little bling!

Materials:
Paper: October Afternoon -
