Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #32 ~ Birthdays!

Good Morning,

We have a lovely challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today one we all get to celebrate...

I created a birthday card for my dad, who's birthday is tomorrow the day after mine, lol.
I've used the DesignA Tweed builder set to create the fabric texture and trimmed the cardstock to match the sketch.
The background is die cut tools out of kraft card to look like faux embossing, so fun!
the Birthday wishes stamp set I have heat embossed in gold for the sentiment.

Paperbabe Stamps ~ Male Face and Mixed media Templates Mini version

Morning! It's the Queen's 90th birthday today...
Happy Birthday!!!
and we are showcasing the new mini manly face stamps and mixed media templates over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...

Are you ready for my fun bright project?...
I thought I would try this technique again but with the male version, how fun would the two work together?

It was created using the mini male head and torso with Pompadour mixed media templates and the mini male face stamp set.
I simply drew my man first in pencil following the template steps, I've hand drawn a very simple shirt. I stamped his face and ears in black ink before colouring the image using copics.

I've used Pop dots stamp set for the texture, they were stamped using distress inks, it worked so well.  I masked the different areas using mostly the template parts before stamping the polks dots.
Then I went around all the pencil lines with my black posca pen, you can very easily reposition the templates and use them again. I thickened some of the pen lines for shadows and added quite a few to his hair. I then fussy cut him out and mounted on a simple background.

Now you've seen my fun comic style why not pop by the rest of the amazing team's fabulous projects...

Thank you very much for stopping by,
I hope you will return tomorrow to see my step by step video!!!

Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

Paperbabe Stamps ~ Male Face and Mixed media Templates

Morning! today we are showcasing the new manly face stamps and mixed media templates over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...

Are you ready for a couple of arty samples...

This would be a great journal page, I thought it was about time I used some gelli prints that I had created a while ago...
I followed the steps to draw the head, torso and hairstyle, I used a black posca pen so I could see the lines on this busy paper.

I stamped his facial features with black ink, the eye layers in a blue and green ink and then coloured the image with coloured pencils, there's a mix of blue, black, red and lots of white to burnish and highlight. The pencils helped to keep the gelli print texture.

To make him pop from the busy background I have used a copic marker to give a shadow around him, then finished off with some inking through a stencil and stamped the sentiment.

This really was an experiment, and although I do like the finish and technique, it just needs a bit more work. But I think this would make a great quick arty manly card. I added interest with Spritz & speckles and birthday wishes stamp sets.
It's very close to doodling just lots of cross hatch lines, I've mixed up the colours all over the face. It really was a very quick card to put together, the fine pens are Derwent Graphik, I love their range.

maybe pop by my fellow Team blogs and check out their handsome men projects...

Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope you will return tomorrow to do it all again but smaller!!!

Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #31 ~ Anything Goes

We have a super easy challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
I had some fun creating this mixed media piece using the fringe from Wavy Bunches template, the standard size as well as the coordinating Head & Torso. Although I chose the round head for a change.

I drew the hair buns freehand, they are not even or completely symmetrical or round or anything. They are a very organic sort of shape. I did add a few tendrils of curls coming from them.

So for a different look I thought I would stamp the mini female face stamp set on this large face, I love how the features are small but still fit well in the space, may have to try this again, it's great to be able to mix and match different face sets.

The fox was drawn freehand sometimes animals just show up, lol.

but the special thing about this cutie is when you tilt the picture and the light dances on his shimmery fur. I've adorned him with a cute crown from this template set, had to be done.

The background has a subtle pattern from my fabulous Herringbone stencil and the whole piece has been attacked with doodling, so fun!!!

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #30 ~ Sketch

Well April has just arrived, wow, March has been a blur.
It's my little girl Maoleidigh's Eighth Birthday tomorrow, so I've been trying to bake her a cake, if it's any good I will take a picture lol!

We have an easy sketch challenge over on the
Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
and I've created a fun little card featuring a baby bear.

I had so much fun creating this little fella, an Adorimal bear with cute Kawaii face.
I stamped the Adorimal elements onto watercolour paper and I've used neocolor II and a little water to colour him in. For the sentiment I used the Watercolour Alphabet and simply stamped each letter eyeballing them as I went.
I treated myself to some of Lucy's gorgeous sequins and added a few of them, I love the way their colour changes depending on the direction you're looking at them.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
