BasicGrey Challenge #7

Happy Halloween its time for the next BasicGrey Challenge...

This weeks challenge is another photo inspiration challenge, This photo was chosen by our fabulous DT member Tara W :), Interpret this photo anyway you wish to, from colours to patterns, the choice is yours, but please do be sure to use at least one item from BasicGrey if you wish to be eligible to win this weeks prize :)

Not a halloween one this time I should have posted some yesterday just a little busy this week. For this card, I was inspired mainly by the stripes through out the image. Used the gorgeous new nook and pantry papers. I have tried to capture the colours too, but think I could have used a whole lot more red.

Hope you get inspired too and check out the other design team's fabulous makes...

Mystery Monday and CPS...

I created this card for the Club Anya mystery Monday challenge... using Heather's fun Sketchy, Sparkly, DSP recipe (which I have already uploaded it to my gallery) and I used the fabulous sketch 138 on card positioning systems but turned it on it's side.

One decorative scrap paper was a tricky one for me I'm hoping I got away with the tiny extra I used for the paper piecing as it's the same colours just glittered. The core'dinations cardstock for the base I have sanded the edges to let the blue through. The leaves are cut using the coloured side of the core'dinations as is the tag.

Mermaid Anya just HAD to be glittered... her hair flowing in the water LOL! I have paper pieced and coloured the rest with copic markers and my favourite Spica glitter pen. I've cut her out and instead of raising her on foam pads I used some plastic packaging which I heated ever so slightly to press around a large pen to create a curve. You should be able to click on the thumbnail below for a close look.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye: laundry line; Core'dinations: whitewash; 10'tations; Stamps: TGF: Mermaid Anya; my guy (sentiment) Ink: Memento: Black; Copic: markers; Spica; Dies: Sizzix: jelly tags; branch and leaves; Nestabilities: ovals; WRMK: corner chomper; Other: adhesive jewels; stones; glossy accents; glass pebbles; plastic packaging; 3D foam; Clear foam pads;
Thanks for stopping by, there's still a little time to have a go at this weeks challenge. Have a wonderful weekend, HuGs Kim :)

Stampin Chic - Be Chic Challenge

Phew.... I am slowly recovering from a major cold so forgive my lack of blogging, we seem to just suddenly catch the bugs going round... it is of course the first term of school and we nearly escaped it LOL!

That said thought you might like to see my dt project I have done for Stampin Chic's fortnightly challenge which is Be Chic! Pop over and see the other Team's gorgeous creations and there's still loads of time to enter...

So I have wanted to make Nicole's bird box for ages now and thought these Christmas papers would be so cute for it. The front has been decorated with CCSR range sentiment stamps and some papermania Christmas ones too. I even found a little forever friends robin sticker too!
Lots of tags I know... but you'd probably use them all... each one has been stamped and most have been heat embossed. On the back I have used CCSR gift stamps to complement the to: from: I have cut each one out and punched a hole to allow the string to go through!
They DO all fit in the box they just bow the roof ever so slightly LOL, it's all the strings really and once the tags are all used the ribbon loop on the roof will allow for it to adorn the tree.
Dillon has already claimed this one I think he has put his little toy Sam from transformers inside LOL!

Products used: Stamps: Papermania(TM) christmas, Papermania(TM) CCSR Sentiments and stamping chic - party, Cardstock and Paper: Papermania(TM) textured card, WRMK (TM) white out - christmas, Colour: Vivid (TM) black, Colourbox (TM) greens, reds, Heat it up (TM) moss green, seafoam white, clear EP, Embellishments: Papermania(TM) flower, WRMK (TM) chomper, big bite, Doodlebug (TM) ribbon, glitter brads, natural thread.
Thanks for stopping by, I'm hoping to blog some more tomorrow, HuGs Kim :)

I have opted for the crest here and used the second stamping to give a faint more watermark effect! Cute 'Red' is coloured traditionally (to me anyway) using my copics (of course). The word 'you' has been die cut using double sided adhesive foam (well good stuff!) all with some yummy patterned papers!

New Team Anya's and Sneaky Peeks...

Wow, I have been soo busy this week and think it's been nearly a week since my last post... tut tut, I had planned to post so much but life got very busy... hope I can make it up with this Sneaky peek from the NEW Greeting Farm images soon to be released on the 15th October....first new reveal, XMAS SWEETIES:

WOW This set is without a doubt 'fabulous!!!' Anya and Ian Claus are so wonderful to use, you will love them. I have used liquid applique and glitter for Anya's furry coat. I was thinking of a naughty little note from Ian... tee hee. My card and ornament also feature the new Christmas paper pack (yum) that will also be available for purchase on October 15th... why not see what our new Team Anya's have done with their set....

Supplies: Patterned Paper: TGF: Christmas paper pack (release 15th); Kraft; MM: natural card; glitter paper; Stamps: TGF: Xmas sweeties(release 15th); CHF: lined paper backgrounder; Ink: Memento: Black; Tim's Holtz: distress inks; Copic: markers; red ink and gel pen; Dies: Sizzix: abstract; background shapes; heart; Provocraft: snowflake; WRMK: corner chomper; EK success: border punch; Other: Liquid applique; fine glitter; BG: buttons; Decorative pin; natural thread; edge distresser; sewing machine, LOL; 3D foam;

So this next project I have created a Santa hat magnet (for those Christmas reminders) but it starts it journey on this decorative snowflake. I thought I would experiment with a little flower soft hmmm, but think I need a little more practice, tee hee. The snowflake is layered each side with some of the new Christmas paper pack, I used my crop a dile to get a hole in the centre for the brad, so the hat would sit at the back. I think the longest part was sanding all those little holes,phew. I've made a kraft envelope for it to be presented in.

Also if that wasn't enough there is a Monday Contest going on today... you won't want to miss 'New Beginnings' so head over to Club Anya to see the details and the yummy prizes you could win!
Thanks so much for stopping by hope you will be back tomorrow for the NEXT sneak peek, yes! even more for you all this week up to the release on the 15th. Woo Hoo, it's so exciting hope you get to join in all the FUN!!!
Happy HuGs Kim :)

PTI World Card Making Day ~ Challenge #4

Please scroll down as I have three posts today and this is the final card for Papertrey Ink WCMD Challenge #4: Australia.... phew

Well, I was so inspired from Nicole's images and went for the masking and dotted line effect. I masked the tree so I could stamp more of the circle image for the background. You can click on the smaller images for a close up. When dry I went in with my white gel pen and added dots to all the circles and around the tree trunk. I just had to use my guide line's set for the earthy background which I shaded with a little distress inks. This trim is gorgeous although a little chunky, could nearly remind you of a snake?

Supplies: Patterned Paper: PTI: bitty squares; Kraft; PM: textured card; Stamps: PTI: Father Knows Best; Everyday Button Bits; Guide Lines; Ink: Memento: Black; Colourbox queues: greens; brilliance: coffee bean; Palette: white; Tim's Holtz: distress inks; White gel pen; Dies: Nestabilities: rectangles; WRMK: corner chomper; Other: WRMK: trims; 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by I wasn't sure I'd make it, I'm a busy bee... There's a little post about me today over at Club Anya... Woo Hoo!!! HuGs Kim :)
