Simon Says Stamp and Show....

Hope you had a fabulous weekend...
and ready for this week's theme at Simon Says Stamp and Show is....

Some Love
I am a bit late with my sample...
I've made a card full of love, using Tim's Heart Wings die...

The heart is cut from chipboard, painted with Claudine Hellmuth Gesso. When dry the edges were inked, then I completely covered with distress stickles and while still wet I poured on some glitter. Now, the wings are cut from satin and double layered, the chipboard crown is coloured with silver paint dabber.

Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die was used to create the rose and the seam binding I coloured using distress ink.

and the wonderful sentiment from Crafty Secrets Bird Notes... It says: 'know the song in your heart and sing it like no one is listening'... how romantic LOL! The papers are 7 gypsies and embossed with the bingo texture fade.

Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the team to see some more love!!!

Quixotic Inspirations ~ with a few challenges too :)

Hello! wanted to stop by with a little set made using lots of goodies found in Quixotic Paperie...

I used the NEW MEMORY BOX 6x6 - PIXIE papers, the gorgeous Stempelglede - Just A Note... I mount mine onto EZ Mount - Static Cling Mounting Foam - 8.5" x 11" Sheet, It's a larger set so it will take pretty much the whole sheet :(

I then coloured the Pink Paislee - Artisan Elements - Frames  using distress inks and copper paint dabber. You might just see that I have used the WRMK - Sew-Easy Stitch Piercer Tool + Straight Head and WRMK - Sew-Easy Piercing Mat but just left the dentation without thread, a little faux stitching... which fits in very well with Dutch Dare - Stitching (Real or Faux). I've also used Martha stewart punch for the decorative top for Simply Create #35 - Use Your Punches and I've added a little paper swirl from Marianne D Creatables - Frames/Swirls LR0116.

I thought it would be nice to create a co-ordinating envelope in the same Pixie papers and I added a Tando Creative - Flourish 5 to the flap. I simply applied copper paint dabber, when dry, I adhered in place.

I was inspired by the fabby sketch  #99 over at card Patterns

That's it from me today, hope it inspires...
have a lovely creative day and see you again next week!

Simon Says Stamp & Show... A Childhood Memory...

So, this week's theme at Simon Says Stamp and Show is....

A Childhood Memory...

One of many childhood memories was my sister and myself baking cupcakes with our mum and I always remember my sister calling them fairy cakes(even to this day) LOL!...

I have used Wendy's magnificent art parts as the base, with yummy graphic 45 steampunk papers...

Well... I have been eager to try some beeswax collage using my wonderful melting pot. It's not very clear in the pictures. I've used the adorable girl from Crafty secrets sweet stuff stamped onto tissue paper and layered within the beeswax. You will also spot quite a few of Wendy's Studio 490 stamps too.

The rose was created from Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, is coloured with Pine needles distress inks and a little mini mister spray of gold perfect pearls.

the cup cake is in Rusty Hinge and I've added stickles, then covered with glossy accents. The old text print papers I have die cut for fairy wings and coated in wax. I had to include a little bottle of fairy dust sparkle... very tricky to photograph.

Most of the edges are highlighted with gold paint dabber and an ideo-ology D-ring for hanging.

Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the team to see one of their childhood memories!!!

A Fond Farewell... 2 Sketches 4 You!

I just had to enter a card for the 2 sketches 4 You ~ Fond Farewell last sketches...

I have always enjoyed Laura & Kazan creativity and I will miss their sketches so much but I am sure it takes a lot of hard work putting it all together and you are both such busy ladies.

Sadly I had a funeral to attend yesterday and so I created this card, using lots of goodies from papertrey ink. You might not be able to tell but I followed Kazan's sketch...lol! The papers are Webster's pages and I thought the colours went quite well although For the sentiment I had to mix two distress inks to get the colour I wanted. I've used natural seam binding didn't scrunch it or anything with a vintage button.

Many thanks for all the inspiration and creativity you have showered us with, you will be sadly missed by many. Good luck to you both, BiG HuGs Kim :)

Quixotic, The Greeting Farm and CPS

Good afternoon... wanted to stop by with a little card made using lots of goodies found in Quixotic Paperie,

I used the NEW MEMORY BOX 6x6 - PIXIE papers, the adorable Oliver from The Greeting Farm - Oliver & Amelia - Just For You Set, coloured using copics. The sentiment from the set I have combined using Whimsy Shapeology Die - Ticket and the blank image from the Whimsy Friendship Ticket Sentiments Set.

The colours where inspired from the fabulous FFF Challenge... Black, Turquoise, and ONE color of your choice (I went for green in case it's not too obvious tee hee) over at the Greeting Farm, haven't played along in what seems like ages....

I also used the brilliant sketch from card positioning systems #201

That's it from me today, hope it inspires...
have a wonderfully creative day!!!

Simon Says Stamps and Show ~ My Polka Dot Case!

Good Monday, I enjoyed a busy weekend as my little boy is now seven wow such an amazing age!
So, this week's theme at
Simon Says Stamp and Show is....

Polka Dots

I have wanted to make a grunge bag since for ages but thought I would start with something a little smaller... I have used the Tag and Bookplate die as the template, I've folded grungepaper in half and ran through die cut machine to create a tag top at each end, then sewn up the sides to form a pocket.

I used the solid flower from Wendy's Botanical art, stamped directly onto grungepaper and covered with glossy accents. When the accents were dry I went over with the polka dots, stamped using ranger paint dabber, which resisted the distress inks.

I have lined the inside of my case with felt to protect the contents...

Yes my ipod, now I can wear it around my neck and save the screen getting scratches.
I have created a loop to hold my ear phones too.

So, the back has had the same resist treatment as the front but using the leaves from nature's art. The sentiment is also from nature's art stamped using archival black. The strap is the polka dots ribbon from Webster's pages holiday trims. I have made a channel for the ribbon so it can be changed or if I didn't want a strap one day I can used the loop on the side, stamped with the star from Bitty Grunge set.

For access to the bits on my ipod I've used sizzix corners to create ornate holes to feed cables through.
Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the team to see what they do with polka dots!!!

Quixotic, Kenny K and Shabby Tea Room

The fabulous Kenny K stamps from Whimsy Stamps are now in stock at Quixotic!
and thought I would create a little card with the sassy 'butter wouldn't melt' troublemaker...

I've used some of my favourite sweetness papers from Pink paislee with one of the artisan elements ~ ornaments too.

The wonderful sentiment is a combination of this Whimsy sentiment stamp set and the co-ordinating ticket die, so easy to use and love the extra images too!

These are the colours I've used although think I forgot to pop the black in with them!

So, this is my first time entering... The Shabby Tea Room Challenge,
and this week I've followed their sketch from week #44.

Hope you have a creative day BiG HuGs Kim :)

Simon Says Stamps and Show something Masked!!!

Good Morning! Wow Monday already which brings me to this week's theme at
which is....

Something Masked!!!

Well, I've used just a few masking techniques on my card... The card base, was first sprayed with glimmer mist to give a subtle colour and then I used Tim Holtz Floret Mini Mask for the corners, so while they were in place I went over with masking tape and used distress inks to create stripes. Finished with an overall glimmer spray to soften the lines, more distressed.

The main image is cut from nestabilities labels 8, inked with distress inks and Wendy's text stamp. I wanted to try something new (for me...) just had the idea in my head and had to try, LOL! I poured some masking fluid onto my non stick sheet and pressed the botany image from fairytale frenzy and stamped over the text piece. When masking fluid was dry I went in with distress inks and blending sponges to really bring out the contrast against the mask, stamped the corners using bitty grunge then rubbed away the masking fluid to reveal a white area. I then re-stamped the botany in distress ink right over the white area, it's given a halo.

While I the masking fluid was waiting to dry I made a lollipop flower, have wanted to make these for ages.. so first I die cut six flowers from lining fabric and sprayed with glimmer mists then heated the edges with a candle flame till they curled.

The butterfly was stamped on separate piece of card, cut out and adorned with adhesive pearls and stickles glitter. Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the team to see their masking techniques!!!

Simon Says Stamp and Show Your...

Oooh it's the first Monday of 2011...
so I'm bringing you right onto this week's theme at Simon Says Stamp and Show which is....

Your Newest Stamp!!!

My newest stamp is a couple of crafty secrets sets, although they're an older set I have only had them a few days... so set to work and decided to make a vintage hanging using sweet stuff. I started with some of Wendy's magnificent art parts, covered them with some gorgeous cosmo cricket's circa 1934 patterned papers and inked all the edges with distress inks, I've used a cotton bud to ink the holes.

The background was created by stamping directly onto sticky back canvas and I then heat embossed to give a red work effect. I have used distress inks to add colour to the background by masking the images.

The adorable birds are paper pieced and raised on adhesive foam. I've then added a few flower's created using Tattered florals die with pearl centre's. Finished off with a bow of seam binding and a little vintage lace sprayed with sand glimmer mist.

Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the team to see their newest stamp!!!
