From the Desk of Teach, Cuttlebug Challenge #46 using Card Patterns Sketch.

I have been trying to put this post on for the past two days, how does that happen? So, Dillon will be starting back at school on Thursday and thought I would go ahead and make something for his teacher's desk which follows the Cuttlebug challenge be inspired #46 very nicely, also I bought a couple of Lauren Meaders timeless templates and fully utilised them for this project...

I altered the from the desk of template slightly to accommodate larger A6 cards but went a slightly different route... The back section houses a note card holder the all boxed up template, also altered slightly to fit snugly into the back section. More details lower down this post.

Don't you just ADORE this new line of scrumptious papers from the fabulous Cosmo Cricket? Well I very quickly got my grubby hands on some 6x6 mini pads and set to work cutting into them as soon as they arrived. I then went ahead and covered this desk box in some of the fabulous patterns, the Kraft goes so well. I have coloured the flower and leaves with my copics inspired from the papers and aged ever so slightly with some of Tim's distress inks. The 'Teach' title I have die cut and coloured with distress inks too, they came out so well.

And what desk set wouldn't be complete without wooden ruler and pencils and some little biscuit snack munchies, housed in this adorable satchel bag...

So, I won this X large die when I won a sizzix comp and this was the perfect time to give it some use, I have embellished it with buckles and some ribbon, using some fab Cosmo Cricket papers from a while back.

This is the notecard holder using the all boxed up template, it houses eight handmade note cards and coordinating envelopes. The front clasp is secured using a magnetic snap, fabulous item! I've tried to replicate an old book with worn stitching, mmm with more great paper?

As the title mentions I very loosely used the Cards pattern Sketch #29 but I didn't get it published on my blog quick enough still a lovely sketch... half are hello and the rest say thanks. You know... those little notes home!

Well I think my list of supplies might be as long as the post itself LOL!

ICSketches #31 with gorgeous PTI stamps...

Morning a lovely Tuesday and a very busy day for me, here's my design team card for Inspirational Card Sketches...

Well, Dawn has designed a Super sketch for us! Please go and have a look at the other design teams makes, fantastic as always.
Now, not long before our week away I had treated myself to a long awaited nice fat order from PTI and to my delight it was delivered when we got back. I think it just takes longer to use the new stuff when there's so many other life things to do, so here's a card using the most beautiful set. I had to have this set how pretty are those flowers? and a dream to colour. I used my copics and finished off with pretty gems.
I have cut and embossed two label 1 shapes to represent the squares on the sketch, then I've pretty much followed the rest as is. Although, I stamped the bottom half as I had forgot dry emboss it before sticking on the scallop panel, ended up creating a mask from scrap paper which I punched the edge and stamped through. Hope you get a chance at this weeks sketch and click images for a close look...

Supplies: Patterned Paper: PTI: Bitty dots; Stamps: PTI: in bloom; everyday classics; Ink: Momento: black; colourbox; markers: copic; Die's: Nestabilities: label1; Sizzix: bookplate; Cutb'g: embossing folder; Fiskars: apron lace; Other: grey board; double sided adhesive sheet; adhesive stones; BG: brads; ribbon; 3D foam;
Thanks for stopping by and thank you for your wonderful comments... hoping to get back into the swing of blogging soon, Big Happy HuGs and enjoy your day, Kim :)

Inspirational Card Sketches #30

We're back from Dorset and the sun shone for us, the children loved the beach Maoleidigh loves digging sand spent her time filling her bucket up, eventually attempting the cold sea water, as for Dillon he couldn't get enough of the sea and we had to drag him back to the caravan... which he thinks we should live in all the time bless him! I have so missed my crafting and all my blogging buddies so got straight back into it with my DT card for Inspirational Card Sketches...

Olena designed our fabulous sketch this week, and our sponsors are Paper Popsicles so pop over and have a browse at their wonderful site.

I have printed and coloured little girl all summery with white dress and super cute frilly socks. I have edged the dress with my spica pen but it's a little hard to see the glittrer in the photos. Couldn't resist a little button too!
I have seen crochet flowers cover the crafting catwalk for a while now and decided to actually try making one, now it's not the most fabulous and I certainly need some practice, but this is my very first attempt at crochet and I found the most wonderful blogs which will help even the most complete beginner thanks Teresa and Rachel. So I got myself a crochet hook but I only a large one and my crochet is leaning more to the lacy side, to finish I simply put a small button in the middle. click on pictures to enlarge.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: MME: Bloom and Grow; Stamps: paper popsicles: Little girl; Ink: markers: copic; spica; Die's: Nestabilities: label1; Sizzix: bread tags; Cutb'g: butterfly; Other: lace, Buttons, thread, crochet hook, cereal box card; double sided adhesive sheet; 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by and here's a few little pics of when we we're away, I didn't take my camera to the seaside so don't have any of them playing there. They are of course impossible to photograph and don't sit still for a second... but cute all the same,

HuGs Y Kim :)

ICSketches #29 ~ Short Cuts

I'm still away in Dorset, and enjoying my little break, having fun with my two adorable little ones and OH Steve. This post is scheduled so hope it has worked and this is Tuesday... as this is the day for my DT card for Inspirational Card Sketches...

Well, Tricia has designed our super sketch for this week! Please go and have a look at the prize on offer too, as we have another Fantastic sponsor for this week by ShortCuts.

So I happened along this fabulous artist blog Maurie J Manning at digital pencil too while blurfing and just had to download one of her beautifully drawn images...

This I have printed in a 'notecut' from shortcuts for my central image, I have coloured using my copic markers and embellished the water with my spica glitter pen you may just glimpse that in one of the close ups. (Click to enlarge in new window). I then layered the finished image onto different card stock and adhered to the front of the card with 3d foam.

Seeing as I was using these adorable October Afternoon papers I thought that their stamps would coordinate perfectly... can you just see the baby boy enjoying those ducks chatting about who goes first to the paddling pool for a swim, LOL?

Supplies: Patterned Paper: October Afternoon: Ducks in a Row; Stamps: free summer baby: digital pencil too; October Afternoon: Ducks in a Row; PTI: alphabet; Ink: Momento: Black; colourbox; markers: copic; spica; inkssentials white; Die's: Sizzix: alphabet; Fiskars: threading water; Other: tracer; cereal box card; double sided adhesive sheet; notecut: shortcuts; 3D foam;

Basic Grey ~ "The Launch Challenge" Woo Hoo

Woo Hoo BasicGrey Challenges has now officially started.... Check out the other Design team's creations they're fabulous!!! I will hopefully be enjoying our little family holiday today and I have scheduled this post... so fingers crossed LOL!

Well, Tara has designed a Super sketch for our relaunch challenge! Quite a few layers for me but these gorgeous papers are fab for it!
I went with orange and green you can blame the super cute Peter Pan for that one, Tee hee! I have coloured him using copic markers and cut out. His side kick Tinkerbell is also in green and completely covered in spice glitter, so pretty but impossible to photograph. She is sitting in the centre of a grungeboard flower which I have inked in distress inks. Manly flower as it's made in grunge, LOL!
Tinkerbell couldn't be with out her bling, so I have cut the BG bling to flow from her! KWIM? The wonderful Martine gave me this fab ticket stump and I thought it perfect for the theme! I have distressed it with sand paper and inks then embossed the sentiment directly over.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: June bug; Core'dinations: whitewash; grunge board; PM: textured card; Stamps: TGF: Never Ever; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; copics; spica; Die's: Nestabilities: rectangles; Sizzix: Flourish with flower; branches and leaves; BG: button; Bling; Other: ribbon; EP: white; natural thread; ticket stub; 3D foam;
