Wild Card Wednesday... Redwork Inspired

Good morning all and welcome, this is my second post today... yeah I KNOW!!! but just wanted to share a little challenge I set over at Club Anya and Friends Blog....
So... my WCW Challenge to you is to make a card or Creation inspired by REDWORK...

A little Redwork history and information

Inspiring
Red work images...

I wanted to show a few samples so that you don't need to get your needle and thread out straight away... The real inspiration is the red and white combo, the clean the simple effect this creates...

Here I have simply stamped the image in red ink and cut out,

Close inspection...

Here I have stamped the image and heat set with red embossing powder;

Close inspection...

Here I tried some faux stitching and pierced the stamped outline with my pokey tool;
Hope you can see the holes...

Now for this one I really went to town, and here's a wonderful site with patterns and sewing instructions (now I only wish I had some red thread before hand and didn't need to ink up some natural thread and have red fingers to boot, ROTFL!!!)

At close look you might see I went for a 'back stitch' where a 'stem stitch' is much more common but as I wasn't working with fabric I didn't want the card to rip. I also tried some french knots for her cute lips.

I hope you feel inspired to try something different and also to say that you can create redwork in many colour's it's about having some FUN.... If you would love to play along then enter your fabulous creation in the Wild Card Wednesday galleria :)

Supplies(from top to bottom): Patterned Paper: MME: laundry line; PTI: Kraft; Stamps: TGF: WS - Gigi; Ruby; Chelsea; Stella; Ink: Stampin up: real red; Tim Holtz: Distress Inks; White acrylic paint; Die's: Nestabilities: Labels 1; Other: needle and Thread; adhesive gems; Foof a la: buttons; grosgrain ribbon; Lace; 3D foam;
