ICSketches #34 ~ Cutting Cafe

I had intended to post this yesterday but it got too busy, you know how it is? and although you haven't seen seen a post for a while I have been crafting like mad. You will see the five cards I created over the weekend for the Club Anya VSN party and farewell Team 01, because I'm hoping to blog about them tomorrow but for now... here's my design team card for Inspirational Card Sketches...

Well, Dawn has designed a fantastic sketch as always! Hope you have a look at the other design teams fantastic makes and the fabulous sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe,

You will love this Frame shaped card set, fun, fun shape and great for layering. I have one of Regina's previous cupcake set so used it for the centre of my card.

All the elements have been hand cut and I was very surprised my printer printed so well on these scrummy glittered papers. The circle represents the angled square, just if you're wondering LOL? There's a few mini differences as the paper was quite busy. Hope you get the chance to have a go...

Wanna Be Just Like....

SO, made this card earlier in the week for "I wanna be like Lisa" challenge over at Club Anya and put it in the Greeting Farm Gallery, but thought you would like more details and pictures...

We followed Lisa's wonderful card design and I may have been a little experimental... as you can see... I have stamped Miss Snow Anya directly onto kraft card. Coloured with copic markers, you'd be amazed how well the colour goes on. Try testing on a scrap as the colour changes slightly compared to on a white base.

This would probably be one time when you could have done with the white ink not being so dense. I simply stamped the polka dots directly onto the coloured image with the nesty die in place to create a frame. Then with a little masking and using a finger dabber, the background snow came together very well!

If you click on the close up you can just make out some sparkle on her hair because I wanted to show where the snow has fallen and melted. Doesn't she look so cosy in those gorgeous boots and outfit!

Do you think she's waiting for it to freeze to do a little skating? *smile*

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket; Kraft: PTI; silver mirri; Stamps: TGF: Miss Anya-Rain Snow Shine; PTI: sentiment; Ink: Memento: Black; markers: copics; Palette: white; Colourbox queues: greens; Dies: Nestabilities: rectangles; Sizzix: skates; oval; Other: Basic Grey: brads; natural string; push clips; Dabber; Lace; 3D foam;

Thank you for stopping by, big Hugs and smiles, Kim :)

Cuttlebug be inspired #34 ~ Birthday Party Invitation

This is a really quick post... for cuttlebug birthday challenge...

Now as is always the case when your in a hurry etc etc camera dies and there's no charged batteries or the other type. searching I found some older charged with just enough juice to take these really terrible photos.... but hoping I'm not too late for this one, it says on Tuesday night at midnight (EDT) we will choose one invitation winner, it's not quite that time yet....
Wanted to mention the invite has embossing on the acetate wings and the glittery tummy, and just in case you can make it out in the pic the pink on the dragon is fun flocked. SO FUN!!! I have layered a few pages inside with the party details..
This is a Damsel and Dragons theme the first page of the invite says:
Damsel
or Dragon
Which one
will you
Be?
PTO to
RSVP
then the rest of deets on each page... I have made a quick little embossed envelope for it to go in. BUT the really fun detail is the fact that it's a magnet so instead of searching high and low for one to stick the invite to the fridge this one is good and ready... (I would have taken a pic for that too)... maybe tomorrow.
Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: lemonade; acetate; glitter paper; Stamps: inkadinkadoo: sentiment; Ink: pallette: white; markers: copic; Die's: Sizzix: Dragon; Cuttlebug: embossing folders; Fiskars: apron lace; Other: fun flock; double sided adhesive sheet; adhesives gems; 3D foam;
Thanks for stopping by and your wonderful comments, HuGs Kim :)

ICSketches #33 ~ Lindsay Stamp Stuff

Morning, a lovely Tuesday and here's my design team card for Inspirational Card Sketches...

Well, Dawn has designed a fantastic sketch as always! Please go and have a look at the other design teams fantastic makes too.
This week we are being sponsored by Lindsay Stamp Stuff and here's one of her wonderful images.
We have these beautiful purple poppies pop up every now and then and I just love them I know they're a weed but for me they should stay LOL! and so this is what inspired the colour of this gorgeous poppy.
I printed the image and simply coloured with my copics, I then added faux stitching and inked the edges with some distress inks. I have pretty much followed the sketch, with more faux stitching, inked edges and some embossing. Hope you get a chance at this weeks sketch...

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: wisteria; Stamps: Lindsay Stamp Stuff: oriental poppy; Hero Arts: sentiment; Ink: archival: printer: black; markers: copic; distress inks; Die's: Nestabilities: rectangles; Cuttlebug: butterfly; embossing folder; Fiskars: apron lace; Other: tracer; adhesives gems; 3D foam;

Stampin Chic ~ Technique Challenge

So, this weeks challenge is...
Glitter.. do you love it or hate it? Well, we would like you to use glitter in your project this time. As usual, in order to enter the challenge we would like you to use at least one CCSR product, be it stamps or papers, and this week it's just for fun.
Just have a look at the fantastic ideas that the Design team have come up with this week. They are sure to inspire you and whet your appetite for the sparkly stuff!

Well, I love glitter, it's just not very easy to photograph... This time I made a tall card and matching tag. There's glitter all over the place and the cards too, LOL! The paper's are glittered so that's the start... I then used thin strip of tape on the green and covered in fine glitter. The Flowers I have stamped and used holographic embossing powder. The hearts and the button flower centres I have stamped cut and used Anita's 3d gloss then poured on more fine glitter, then left to dry.

Stamps: Papermania(TM) CCSR Sentiments and Doodles, sweet nothings; Cardstock and Paper: WRMK(TM) Nonsense, Papermania (TM) textured cardstock, Colour: Colourbox (TM) greens, Heat it up, holographic EP; Embellishments: Anita's 3d gloss, Anita's sheer ribbon, Papermania(TM) flower, Doodlebug(TM) glitter Brad, WRMK(TM) eyelets, scallop punch, Glitz it(TM) fine glitter.
Thanks for stopping by I will be posting another card later, HuGs Kim :)

BasicGrey Week 3 ~ Inspiration Challenge

Good Morning its time for the next BasicGrey Challenges and this fortnight it's a photo inspiration challenge,

Our challenge photo is gorgeous and we would simply like you to take Inspiration from it! It can be anything from patterns, shapes, colours even textures, let your imagination run wild and have fun interpreting the photo...

The first thing that inspired me was the scallops and the box pleats just had to have them on my project... LOL, it so reminded me of sewing with my mum, nearly had to stop myself getting the iron out to press the pleats after folding them... ROTFL! I would love to do a little tutorial for those who'd love to make some pleats too?

I really wanted to capture the fresh clean look of the scene and thought these papers worked well. The main image, inspired from the beautiful yellow flowers in the vase... is a small floral stamp I have repeated several times to fill the area, embellished with a flitter of glitter. It's a little lost in the photo but love the paneling under the window and used my nesties to created a raised frame.

The butterfly I have stamped on to BG bluebird paper and highlighted the spots with my yellow sakura gel pen and added a touch of spica and bling!!! Click images to enlarge.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: Urban prairie; Stamps: BG: Wild Flowers; AC: Sentiments; Ink: Archival: black; Colourbox: blue, yellow; Whispers pens: green; sakura gel pen; Spica: glitter marker; Die's: Nestabilities: rectangles; Other: Adhesive gems; Lace; stapler; 3D foam;

I was up late last night making cards for the card maker of the year comp but decided this morning to leave it... might try and submit them elsewhere instead... I missed my post yesterday tut tut, will put it on tomorrow... Thanks for stopping by hope you get a chance at this challenge, HuGs Kim Y
