Well, I’ve received quite a few blog awards over the last couple of weeks, I'm so thankful to all who thought of me! I’m afraid that the people I would have given it to have probably already been given them...

Wow, I received this award from Jo. I am so thrilled and excited to receive this award from such a wonderful lady. I think a lot of us already know Jo blog but if you don't, please go and have a look to see and congratulate her on her New Dt!

Personally, I would like to leave it to everyone and especially those who follow my blog and leave me the lovely comments!

And this pretty one I got from Heather and I have to pass this on to 7 other blogs but I think the one's I'd pick are all covered in Awards!

WoJ sketch and yummy treats

Do you remember this post? Well my two winning entries both use one of the gorgeous line of stamps from Whiff of Joy. Not only was I rewarded by being published in this magazine but the wonderfully talented and extremely generous Katharina has sent me these stunning Stamps as a thank you for using her stamps!
WOW they're gorgeous and more then I ever expected, they have been lovingly mounted same as my ez mount tutorial! Thank you so much Katharina! :)

Now onto the card, they have a great sketch over at Whiff of joy challenge blog

Dillon will be turning 5 on Friday, can't quite believe it! So this I have made for him with my new stamp, although it was funny making a card with Oakley in the bath I realise that Dillon absolutely loves the bath and would spend all night in there if I'd only let him!
I have stamped the image twice onto kraft card and coloured with watercolours and my own mix of twinkling h2o's using micro pearls and watercolour. One image has been cut out and raised on 3d foam. I then had to use these glass beads for the bubbles! Which stuck very easily with glossy accents!

Materials:
Paper: BG - cupcake, PTI - Kraft, blue pearl cardstock,
Stamps: whiffofjoy - Oakley-in-bathtub,
Die's: Sizzix - Alphabet, Nestabilities - squares, corner rounder,
Ink: Versafine - black, Colourbox - dark moss, watercolour, micro pearls,
Other: Glass beads, glossy accents, grommets, big bite, cut'bg embossing, 3D foam,

Thanks for stopping by, Have more to post but it will have to wait! HuGs Kim x

Kazan Sketch 17

Over at 2sketches4you this weeks sketch was provided by the talented Kazan, and I instantly loved it. I used some gorgeous patterned paper from the Crate paper, here's my take on Sketch 17

I didn't manage to create the card until today and I hope I'm not too late in posting it for 2sketches4you! I so loved the peacock in this collection which was the decider in purchasing it! yum, the colours and the cuteness!
I actually used the die cuts form the collection and layered different patterned papers to create a pocket which holds a hidden message on the file folder, but if I had thought about it properly I probably should have the bird slightly different so it didn't lose it's tail every time you slip the file out!

Materials:
Paper: Crate paper - Blue Hill collection,
Die cuts: Crate paper - Blue Hill collection, Sizzix - file folder, Nestabilities - Squares,
Ink: Colourbox - dark moss,
Other: Doodlebug rub-ons - all mixed up, adhesive gems & bling, 3D foam,

Wow, second post in one day!!! on a roll or I'm behind as I didn't get any posted yeaterday or thursday! Thanks so much for stopping by! HuGs Kim x

BG Challenge 17 - Chipboard

For this weeks challenge we would like to see you use some chipboard in your creations, fear not if you don't have any chipboard though, a good alternative is to recycle think cardboard that is usually found in boxes, simply cut some shapes from it, decorate it how you please and your good to go :), and of course not to forget to use at least one item from BasicGrey somewhere on your creation...

...well, I've had this chipboard since I purchased my 2 scoops collection which is about a year ago and I'm only using it now (shame on me!) The background is created with a few tears and some ripping and a little of Tim's paper distresser. Then ink pad skipping over all the edges and the paper lace. I have die cut the flower in different 2scoops papers and layered to make the chip board form a stalk.

I had a little disaster with the bookplate shape and it has now been inked, sanded, reinked, rubbed, distressed and few other effects (efforts) I believe it started pink and now it's green! I stamped sentiment and heated with white embossing powder finished off with a touch of bling and 2 scoops brads! The butterfly is my own version of grand adhesion's I've punched the butterfly three times and layered, love this effect!

Materials:
Paper: BG - 2scoops, white pearl cardstock,
Stamps: PTI -
Remember,
Die's: Sizzix - flower layers, Punch - butterfly
Ink: Versamark, distress inks, chalk inks, Colourbox - dark moss,
Other: BG - 2scoops chip stickers, 2scoops brads, tim's edge distresser, paper lace, adhesive gems & bling, 3D foam,

Thanks for stopping by and I've missed a couple of days I will try and get another posted if the time allows! Have a great Saturday and enjoy the BG challenge, HuGs Kim x

Sympathy Poppy and an award

I've been meaning to post this for a while, think it's safely arrived at the recipient now....

It was a while ago that I made this and I think I used a sketch from CPS, just need to check... yes cps 90 found here. This PTI stamp set is beautiful, I loved creating the floral image from different layers of ink! I cut one of the stamped poppies out and raised on 3d foam. The base card is finished with faux stitching, and the sentiment is Quickutz stamp that I've trimmed around!

Materials:
Paper: BG - Boxer, MM - Naturals,
Dis:
Nestabilities rectangles, butterfly punch,
Stamps: PTI -
Out on a limb - Messages, Remember, Quickutz frame,
Ink: Versamark, Colourbox Q's, Versafine black,
Other: Glossy accents, adhesive pearls, paper lace, 3D foam,

Also, I really need to say I have been honoured with another award. Thanks so much Clare go check out her blog now!

The rules of accepting this award are:-

You have to give it to 5 others and link to those people as well as who gave it to you.
Those 5 shall also pass it on to another 5 people.
Plus you have to write down 5 things you are addicted too.

I shall try and think of 5 addictions...

1. Paper, now you may think yeah we all are, but really I have a HUGE bookcase dedicated to paper, before crafting I drew a LOT and all the paper I had was blank, then I discovered Decorative delicious patterned paper there's NO stopping me, in the three years I have been card making I have accumulated thousands of sheets! (shame!)

2. Tea, you will no doubt always find me with a cuppa, normally mummy temperature cos there's always something to do!

3. Blurfing, I spend so much time looking at all the fantastic talent I forget the time and get a numb bum, then realise I haven't done half the stuff I planned to do, (my now fiance would say I like to BLOG)
4. Like Clare I'm addicted to buying craft mags. Every month I say to myself - that's it, no more. I already subscribe to three and never really make anything from them, I just love to look over them. Then the next month comes around and I end up buying every one in case it might have something nice in it! Would hate to miss anything! Must cost me a real fortune but I do keep them and reread when not blurfing.
5. I'm quite partial to jacobs crackers, It has to be JACOBS, with either cheese, peanut butter or just butter!

Nearly forgot to pass this award onto five other fabulous blogs... They have to be my New teams mates from the Basic Grey challenges, I realise there's eight of us but I also know that a few of you have already been awarded fabulousness so accept this with love!

This scenic route collection has lots of spots, dots and circles so what better paper to use for this challenge. I used my copics to colour the cute Lola stamp inspired by the paper colours! I punched the flowers and embellished with a pearl then finished with a die cut sentiment.
