It's Been a While... No time to Blog Just CREATE!!!

Guess who's a guest tutorial author on Splitcoast Stampers.....

I Know...

SO....
A while back, the very talented Beate from Splitcoaststampers offered me the chance to do a tutorial on SCS. Imagine my surprise, of course I jumped at the opportunity & finally today is the day...
 It goes live! Yippee!!!

You may remember the original Steampunk Top Hat I made way back here?

This is a spookier variation using the same template you can find a copy here or here...

NOW EVEN BETTER then that is I managed to create a video tutorial... ok three videos, I really struggle to create these my editing is non existent and forget working out the voice over bit, I was seriously happy to find I can just add music over it!!! Then I've simply added notes for the actual steps lol! I hope you enjoy and it's not too long winded... any feedback would be great!

I really like this latest version can suit all those difficult males in our lives LOL!!! The book in the stand is still a working box so can hold some special keepsake!

I have one of these telephones in real life.. collecting dust now but it worked so well for ages. I've heat embossed the die cut with black powder yummy!!!

I would truly love to see any top hat makes out there... as for this little beauty, it will be up for sale very soon I will post the details then!

Thank you so much for stopping by,
Have a wonderfully creative day

Carole's Crafts Class

I was absolutely delighted to find a brand new craft shop in High Wycombe, Carole's Crafts, the nearest craft shop is probably about 20 miles away. They have all sorts of wonderful things in there... some lovely stamps, beads, dies and yummy paper products,  etc, I could go on, lol.

The reason for this is I will be teaching a mini class next Saturday 4th August... this will be my first craft class I'm very excited... It starts at 10am, a nice time of morning so join me for a couple of hours of fun and crafting. We will be creating decorative stamped magnets, I will show stamping & colouring and all supplies are included!

So if you're visiting the High Wycombe area it is in the Chiltern Centre... you cannot miss it, it's next door to primark, the same side as the Post Office. Carole's Crafts are still sorting out telephone and internet services so if you pop me an email or leave a comment if you're interested in attending I will get your name on the list!

Thank you have a wonderfully creative Day

Creative Chemistry 101 Class

Although not quite, I'm still playing and have a week of creative homework to catch up on.

Creative Chemistry class was amazing, Not only do you get great techniques but you get great knowledge of the products themselves.  If you understand what it is and how it works you know why they work the way they do. Tim has such as ease explaining the chemistry behind paints, inks, stains, markers.
I loved hearing Tim talk about how he got started in the business, why he doesn’t clean stamps, how Distress Inks came to be.

So, these are my tags from week 1:

Day 2: included, Blended Spritz & Flick Technique, Brushless Watercolor Technique and Wrinkle-Free Distress Technique...

Day 3: included Alcohol Ink Agates Technique, Archival Resist Technique and Stamping with Reflections Technique which I wasn't really able to complete without the reflections stamps!

Wanted to explain too the difference in my samples here, was a bit frustrated that I only had three colours of archival (I know!!!) so went ahead and ordered a whole load of gorgeous colours! Well, after not being too impressed with the one on the right I thought I would have a go with my Adirondack dye inks which worked exactly as Tim demonstrated in class, phew, not sure I needed to order the archival but like the colours that arrive.

Day 4:  included Watercoloring with Re-inkers Technique, Layered Misting Technique and Custom Stamp Pad Technique.

Day 5: included Stained Kraft Resist Technique, Stamping with Stains Technique and Marbled Stains Technique.

I wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend hope the Easter bunny brings you lots of choccy goodies!!!

Tim Holtz ~ 12 Tags of 2012 ~ March

I decided to join in with Lord Tim's 12 Tags of 2012...

It's so nice to join in at leisure instead of the rushing to get 12 tags done at Christmas. :)

My colours look a little dark, also used a different wood grain, which I decided to heat emboss to get fabby texture, forgetting to stamp the sentiment first doh! But think it worked alright I just heat embossed the sentiment as well!

Followed the directions fro the butterflies as instructed lol, had those things! But as I don't have cement antiquities embossing powder I opted for a more sandy looking grout and used distress ep, Mediterranean butterflies!

Now, for my foliage on the bottom area of tag I just had to try the enamelled effect with distress ep's.

It's great to see all the entries this month..
Also signed up for Tim's

All good fun!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today I know my post are coming in dribs and drabs!!!
Have a wonderfully creative day will show sneak peek of my Magazine feature next few days!

Wearable Art!

It's been quite a day here the weather can't decide to rain or snow... Definitely an indoors day and I actually managed a little crafting time! I worked on a tag for the Tim's 12 tags of 2012 but will blog about that soon, here's a piece that I made recently which fits perfectly with Grungy Monday 37: Tim Holtz Wearable Art!

This is a neck piece I've made using Tattered florals die, still one of my all time favourites. The larger flowers have been layered, it includes a rose creation and a few swirled roses.
The layered flowers have a fringed centre.
Notice the papers mmmm, yummy ranger distress core'dinations, I have painted a sealer onto each flower petal, phew, I'm hoping it will keep the piece stronger and a little bit waterproof!
This is me wearing necklace, I have it on a chain that threads through the filigree shape.
Next is a little heart shaped brooch see two wearable art pieces...
Based on the necklace just with a different colour combination, love these colours and match distress inks perfectly.
This is a much clearer picture of the fringe centre.
And just because it's good to see here's what the back looks like, simply die cut from Tim's heart movers and shapers.

Well, I'm hoping to get a little more blog time in, frustrating that I have to download google chrome every time I want to post...

Have a wonderfully creative day,
BiG HuGs Kim :)

Craft Stamper Cover Girl and catching up

You're probably wandering if I had in fact dropped of the side of the planet but noo I'm still here, things have been more then hectic around here.. although I haven't blogged since the end of July it certainly hasn't stopped me crafting at all!
THE Feb issue of the Craft Stamper Magazine is already out on sale, Friday 6th...
I have two articles in this issue... but better then that I am on THE FRONT COVER!!!
 WOO HOO Thank you Katy!

It's so very exciting to see myself in print every month but published on the cover tops it all! I had such great fun creating these projects, they have a special clever mechanism for which I created a step by step tutorial, turn to page 8 to get the details!

These are just a little sneak peek of the motion half way through turning, fun hey?

Next is a little make for the stamping contrast feature... I thought it would be fun to create my own die cut look with a few stamps!

I'm not sure how much blogging I will get to do now as our family journey is taking new routes... I have taken on the amazing challenge of home educating my children, Dillon had to cope with all sorts of bullying at school even camp and his education was greatly effected, I can't think of anything better then studying at home where he can develop and grow into the amazing boy he is destined to become!

I have so much more projects to share on here, but that can wait for another day!
Thank you to all who continue to follow me I can't tell you how much that touches my heart you are what makes blogging so enjoyable...

Have a wonderfully creative day and if you have them, give those kiddies a HUGE HuG!!!
