DCM & My Time

These cards cover two challenges....

DCM - Our midweek Little Extra is titled ‘The Flowers That Bloom In The Spring’ and we would like you to create a card with flowers.Simple?

Aww but hold on…….there’s a little twist because we don’t want to make it too easy for you. We want your cards to have flowers on but we don’t want to see any Prima’s or shop brought blooms. The idea of this dare is for you create your flowers yourself, so let’s see what you can come up with.

And Lauren Meader Saturday Sketch was to keep it in the corner.

I used a sizzix flower stamp which I stamped in the corner, masked to stamp more images. I then reinked and stamped on different coloured papers, cut each section and layered on top of each other. I embellished with gem and glitter pen.

DCM - All in the Game....

This week the girls have let me (Sue) loose on my maiden dare so I hope I’ve come up with something you can all play along with. It’s all in the Game Tiddlywinks, playing cards, domino's, jig saw pieces…….the list goes on and I’m sure that most of us have a drawer somewhere that has the odd one or two of these lying around in.Well now’s your chance to use them because I dare you to make a card using some of those pieces.Oh and no, you don’t need to throw a double six to start playing.

I did the base card to look like a playing card, I free hand cut the diamond and bit for the spade using heart for the rest. The large dice I made by cutting square and using circle punch to give the six circles then layered onto darker card.

The background target I used my circles nestabilities and layered flat. The woman on the dice I free hand drew onto scrap paper and cut out from black card to give silhouette shape.

One more day till due day...

Baptism Card and Album.

I created this card for the cute Thursday challenge, because I forgot to include the previous card with rabbit as an entry, so I'm way to late to be included for the candy....

Challenge 2
All Creatures Great and Small!
This week we would like to see creatures on your cards, they can be animals, birds, fish even dinosaurs or dragons. Absolutely any creature imaginable!

I based the card on sketch #7 Nicole's sketch, I mirrored the sketch.

This is a baptism card, I had always wanted to try the glitter effect on acetate. I stamped the cross with stazon then glued and glittered each colour. It's very impressive in Real life. To attach the acetate I used an eyelet in the centre so the corners are loose. Love this lamb, I die cut the lamb and inked all the edges.

I used my embossing folder for the paper behind the image. I would have inked the edges but forgot but I managed to ink the letters.

Then I made an album to create a set. The cover is made with grey board that I covered with patterned paper & the heart was die cut and I used acetate to keep the floating effect it's like a window. I embellished with Name and metal charm. Tied with ribbon. The year is done with rub ons.

Veg Caard....

Challenge: "Homegrown"
Theme: Fruits & Veggies
Link your card(s): In the comments section of this post
Deadline: March 31st, Midnight

Prize: A kit from Itty Bitty Scrap Shack along with a Guest Card Designing spot at IBSS! Woot!

Tee Hee... had a little fun with this creation, I have very little stash in the way of fruit or veg so had to create some of my own. Easter of course brought up carrots with the Easter Bunny on his way.
I made the carrots from photo anchors which I trimmed and the stalks where created with my daisy punch. I just trimmed each flower to get three leaves. I added more leaves to give impression of carrot field. The bunny I wanted to look like stuffed toy, the eggs are hidden in the carrot field (or course).

Doodle Basket

Challenge #26 ~ 'DOODLING' Sponsored by Doodles and Scraps of Me

This weeks challenge is 'Doodling' which is sponsored by Jane from Doodles and Scraps of Me Blog

So gel pens at the ready ;) You could doodle a border, maybe some dots, doodle the whole creation or use a doodling stamp if you'd prefer....as always the choice is yours :)
Well... I really went to town with my doodling. Just couldn't help myself, I saw this idea of the card as a basket somewhere and can't find it now, sorry!

These papers are form PM new floral collection, quite a vintage feel! OK where to start... Got my black pen and doodled on.... the scallop flower, the white flower, the stripes on top edge, the faux stitching on the scallop basket (which I created with my nestability square die and my stitch tracer wheel).

Then got my white gel pen and doodled on... the next scallop flower, and I drew the swirls, dots and flowers free hand on the basket. Stamps are Provo craft simply chic and HOTP sentiments.
I used some ribbon for the stem of large flower. Very pleased with all the doodles but feel the finished card is very dark
.

Easter Daring Cards

Now, on to this weeks mid week dare. Its a nice simple one, happily, and all you have to do is make an Easter card ! We have purposely kept the little extra simple because its Sue's first time to dare on Friday - and she has a really tricky challenge lined up for you !! (evil laugh here).

Quite a quick card to make for me. I embossed the vellum with cuttlebug folder, I adhered on the fold with tape and behind the striped paper. The cup cake and eggs are all die cuts from the new PM retro flower paper. I'm quite impressed with these papers, they're great colours and patterns! The stamped sentiment is from see D's set & I added a little glitter bit hard to see!

Papertake, Happy Rain!

Happy Easter, I hope you've had a wonderful weekend!
A bit of a catch up time as always....

Papertake challenge:

After last weeks appalling weather here in the UK, we've decided to use this theme for this weeks challenge! So anything associated with the weather - whatever your interpretation! Under the weather, fun in the sun? Wind? Rain?

I went for rain, I don't mind rain and this cute little Toread Comge looks quite happy in it. I enjoy a little 3d cutting it's very effective when finished. I placed her on acetate window I cut from nestability die and I added dimensional rain drops you might be able to see in one of the close ups.

New Home

This is to cover two challenges, the new cute card blog and papertake...

Challenge #1 - New Beginnings
To celebrate the launch of our new challenge blog we would like you to use the theme of new beginnings or 1st's. This could be new baby, new home, new job, wedding or anything else 'new' or any other 1st you can think of.

Firstly I think the little house is very cute and the background paper is also on the cute side. It's for a couple moving to a new house and so I thought I would include their initials.

I have stamped the house on patterned paper and pieced with thin 3d foam. The windows I've added clear glaze but it's impossible to see in pic.

I thought I would have a go at the frame tutorial but instead of the square I went for an oval. After cutting the file folder I used oval nestatability put it through with embossing rubber and created the frame by cutting more diagonals. Cut the scallop frame with nestabilities to hide all the cuts then stamped swirl and positioned house insert.

By using the file folder I didn't need to cover the back... it went straight onto the backing paper, which I finished with faux stitching and eyelets!

Caard Boat Trip

Caardvarks - Caard trip

Welcome to our challenge! We hope you enjoy this one...we did! Make a card(s) with a transportation theme. Easy enough, right? We had a lot of fun with it. :) Have your cards linked to us by the 18th at midnight.

You can never have enough cards made for men in your stash. I have been wanting to use this die for a while, it can be quite cute, but went for muted colours to coordinate with the basic grey paper. Thought I should use some. I cut around some of the pattern to create waves. The angler I shaped to leave the line in place and used nestabilities to cut rest!

I stamped the background to represent water, sentiment is die cut. The tug boat is raised on 3d foam.

Catching up.....

Well, I have been making cards in between the reorganising and tidying, I just haven't been uploading them. So there are quite a few to feast your eyes on....

Three DCM Dares....
Now, this week it's Rachel's first time to set the dare;"Well I thought we have had plenty of flowers and hearts and girly things so I would like some cards with some teen spirit please."Quite a first challenge ! Thanks Rachel !

I really enjoyed this challenge, I bought these quickutz dies from ebay with a voucher and just love how they turned out. My boy Dillon said it looked like a girl pirate (so cute!)

The large circle is dark pink but don't think the colour is as strong as IRL, I added doodle stitching and cracks to the die cuts. Attached with 3d foam. Quite simple three colours.

Next....

What you need to do is use one of Mel's favourite things on your card (embroidery cotton/thread, buttons, felt or fabric) and combine it with one of your favourite things.

I used Felt and my favourite thing would have to be die cutting so combined the two. The stem and leaf I drew and cut by hand. The felt was die cut and the next layer I used ovals to create flower, then cut scallop and finished with a brad and sticky gem.

Next....
Call for tea, the bags on me...
The dare involves creating a card incorporating a tea bag or coffee satchel - just perfect for days when somebody may need a quiet rest and break. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you all create for the dare.

Kept it quite simple, mostly die cuts (of Course). I made a pocket inside to hold the tea without using any kind of adhesive on the bag.

Well I'm bit tired now there are a few more to show so hopefully i'll upload over the weekend. Thanks for stopping by HuGs Kim x
