Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #4

Morning, well... today is the next challenge over at the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

We have a Sketch for inspiration and wait to you see the amazing projects from the team to help spark your creativity...

I interpreted the sketch slightly differently, by changing the scale of the layers, the base layer is ribbed background heat embossed, the edges ripped and torn then the whole piece inked as a resist. The circle is the ornate frame, so it fits on my card front, it's been slightly inked and distressed. The deer from reindeer fusions is one of my favs, I've stamped him onto kraft and trimmed leaving a slight border so it looks like a die cut.
The happy sentiment has been stamped onto wood paper and cut in a 'manly' ribbon. You can just see the 'birthday overstamped on the 'happy', it looks better IRL! Finished off with a wooden button.

Thanks for stopping by, there's new stamps arriving next week so hope you visit the blog for sneak peeks and inspiration!

I'm entering into a few other challenges too...

Have a wonderfully creative weekend

Paperbabe Stamps Red Rubber Cling Stamps.

I'm introducing the new red rubber character stamps over at Paperbabe Stamps today... and here's my sample...
I've been noticing quite a few designers creating cards with a partial die cutting technique, although I don't have co-ordinating die's I simply cut the frame first then went in with my scissors to trim a border around my image.
Pretty pleased with the result.

I opted to use Mayleedee Witchily for my sample... I've coloured her a bit more wizard than witch. The sentiment has been heat embossed onto vellum and die cut. I've used clear dimensional adhesive behind the gems and letters.
Here's the selection of copic colours I've used. The orange background I airbrushed with copics then used my old stamp cumulus background and stamped over the orange in grey ink.
White hair certainly has it's challenges it was very close to it becoming grey, lol.

Challenges I am entering:
Copic Marker Europe - Challenge 32 ~ Anything goes
Craft room: Something old, something new(old cloud background stamp & new red rubber character stamp)
Penny Black And More - Anything Goes
Cute card Thursday 336 - anything goes
Card and scrap 81: everything is allowed
Let's craft and create 96: anything goes

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #2 ~ Picture Inspiration

Today is the next challenge over at the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

We have a picture for inspiration and wait to you see the amazing projects from the team to help jumpstart your creativity...

I went for a little folky play, the picture inspiration just seems to lend itself very well to folk fabrique Stamp set,
I needed an anniversary card and thought of cramming the folk images into a heart. I placed my heart die under my acrylic block (stamp press for this occasion) then fitted the individual images into the shape.
I love the mirror images in the set, they really help with this sort of stuff!
So, this is just my worksheet test piece to plan my layout and colours, I will keep it somewhere to recreate one day(when I rediscover it while tidying up my workspace).
The colours... they really aren't my usual palette, love the turquoise, blues but purples are challenging... I went with it!
I stamped the images for each colour I've planned,
removed some stamps, then replaced some,
and continued in this manner till I had completed my heart shape.
I felt the heart although there, was really asking for a little help, so...
I Die cut the heart from double sided sticky sheet (the glue one, not the tape one) then ever so carefully laid it over the stamped image phew, bit tricky. I left the backing on to add some distress ink to define the heart.
It is for an anniversary so I covered the sticky heart with glitter.
I used Happy thoughts stamp set to fit on the die cut banner, the 'together' sentiment is stamped inside.
and here's the close up of the twinkly sparkliness, is that not very yummy?!!!
This card was so easy to make that I made four (as I was stamping so that it was one colour at a time etc etc... talk about mass produce and proper sized cards too, I just need to add different sentiments.

I do hope you pop along and have a go at our Challenge,
Have a wonderfully creative day!

Paperbabe Stamps First Challenge...

Hello everyone, I'm so excited today as it's our first challenge over at the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

We have a sketch for our first challenge and wait to you see the amazing projects from the team to help jumpstart your creativity...

Well, I just had to take part in our first challenge didn't I?
I turned the sketch on it's side and extended the word strip so it went along the whole card front(the hearts die cut).
The rectangle shape I used an oval instead, it's very close to the sketch lol...
So, I opted for the flowers from my Oriental Zen set, for the pop of colour and Happy thoughts sentiment stamp set fitted very well to the wedding theme.
I first stamped the flowers using memento luxe inks, then the flourish outline of 'happy' in black ink. I then used the corresponding 'happy' to stamp in silver pearl embossing powder, I stamped the 'together' twice to give a shadow effect.

I really hope you take part it's for two weeks so plenty of time to join in the fun. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

Frost Fairy Wish

Morning, I'm showing this card over at Paperbabe Stamps Blog today but I thought I would add my card here too...

I opted for the lovely Mayleedee Frost Fairy,
These are the copics I used to colour her...
Skin: E11, 13, YR000, YR0000, R12 Lips: R29
Hair: RV34, R56, R59
Dress: BG09, 10, 53, 57
Wings: RV0000, C0
Background: E40, 41, 43, 44, 50 ,51 Ground: C1, C3
The patterned paper are from an old prima pack. The snowflakes and ornament are spellbinder dies. I coloured the bauble with copics to coordinate with her hair. The 'wish' sentiment is from the set.
I couldn't leave the card without a sprinkling of glitteriness, so I went over her dress, and wings with wink of stella and glitter gel pen for her eyes and snowflakes.

And just to remind everyone that we're having a little blog hop here tomorrow, so see you then

Take it, Make it Challenge: August

Any technique, from any 2014 issue of Craft Stamper!
There are nearly 200 techniques to choose from, so good luck with the decision making!

We HAVE to have the name of the technique, the name of the designer that demonstrated it  in the magazine, and which months issue it came from somewhere in your blog post, so make sure you make a note of it! Otherwise, you could be creating something that has nothing to do with Craft Stamper at all, and we can't have that, can we!!!!

Here's my take... it was NOT easy to pick just one
Using the one layer with masking and ink blending technique
by Lydia Brooke Evans, in the June issue.

I loved the added colours to the inked stamp, it took a few attempts to get that technique down. I used distress inks as my base colour then pigment ink to add the purple colour. The flowers and leaves are from my Folk Fabrique due to be released on the 8th August. I created a mask from frisket film by die cutting a rectangle from the centre, this would definitely be a great card to reproduce for mass card making. The sentiment is my Just Because stamp set, I just stamped the flourish outline and added the 'just' above.

I hope you join in all the details are here
And if you have time pop over to the Paperbabe Stamps Blog, we have a few new members to our team, so give them a warm welcome :)

I'm also entering this to craft your passion challenges:

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

Craft Stamper Take it Make it Challenge July

Good morning I thought I would share my project for July`s

and the technique for this month is . . .

Technique: Heat emboss an image/design onto your project, then apply colour over the top with inks/watercolour paints. The embossing powder will resist the inks etc, and the design will show through.

I stamped my peacock from my Folk fabrique set (coming soon)
I used the body on the left to represent a peachen and the one with a tail on the right for the peacock.
I stamped them together using perfect medium and wow clear fine embossing powder.
I then went in with my paintbrush loaded with water and used a few twinkling H2O's. The sparkle in real life is yummy! I've tried to capture it but it doesn't work well in photo.
The sentiment is from my Just Because set, I simply heat embossed in white powder on black card.

There is a fantastic prize for this challenge, so be sure and check out all the details on the main blog HERE.

Be sure and pop by the main blog to check out the stunning creations the rest of the team have created, just click here.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you get the chance to join in, you have until the 23rd July and you can even have your winning card published in the Craft Stamper Magazine.
Have a wonderfully creative day
