Inspirational Card Sketches #14

Another wonderful sketch to inspire you this Tuesday from Inspirational Card Sketches designed by the lovely Dawn! This is one of my favourite cards to date, just don't want to give it away, but it's for my Dad who's birthday is the day after mine.

I'll start with the tag... I wanted to try Tim Holtz dabber-resist technique, I used Kim Hughes fabby trees, with my copper paint and I followed the video. I over-stamped the whole image using the script stamp with distress ink, then blended a few distress ink colours over tag with my blending tool. I didn't think the painted outline of the tree was enough so dabbed some paint onto my non stick sheet and used my water brush to fill in the trunk and tree tops. The flying bird I have simply stamped with black ink directly over everything. I have used a grommet to embellish the hole. Tee Hee... that was just the tag, the rest was really very simple. Loving this sassafras papers the edging is gorgeous and lent itself to the sketch very well. I have simply cut two slots in the patterned paper to slide the tag into. The bookplate is a Sassafras chipboard, I've attached with brads and the sentiment I have stamped onto Kraft paper and embellished with a little (man) bling LOL. I have placed a few yummilicious buttons with glue dots. Click images to get a good look at the details.

Materials:
Paper: Sassafras, PTI - Kraft, MM - Natural,
Stamps: CHF - Kim Hughes spring trees, script background, Studio Calico, PTI - Out on a limb,
Ink: Archival - black, distress inks, Tim's paint dabbers,
Die's: Sizzix - Dog Tags,
Other: Adhesive bling, Sassafras chipboard sticker shapes, buttons, grommet, Big Bite, glue dots, 3Dimensional foam,

Hope you get inspired and have a try at a new technique and join us this week. Thanks for stopping by and if you get the chance I would love if you popped back tomorrow I will have another card and some good news and I'm afraid some bad news, have a fantastic day ♥ HuGs Kim x

Colour Challenge #3 - Shower of Thanks

We've woken up to a very wet Monday morning here but I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Well today it's my turn to show what I've created for the colour challenge at Stampin Chic this week, set by Kath and Sheila, hope it brightens with the fab colours Turquoise and Yellow!!!

I created a circle matt by cutting and distressing the edges. The circles are punched and adorn under the edge which I have inked all around! This cute umbrella which I have been waiting to use I have stamped and paper pieced. The 'you' is from CCSR paper which I have simply cut out inked edges and raised on 3D foam. The yummy felt ribbon I decided to staple on, as it's quite thick. Flowers I have embellished with buttons, brads and shimmer dots.

Materials:
Paper: CCSR - the Big One, Papermania - retro floral & pastel colossal,
Stamps: CCSR - Stampin chic party Stamp set,
Ink: Clearsnap - Queues Fluid ink, Vivid - black
Other: 3d foam, PM - flowers, PM - buttons, PM - special brads, PM - shimmer dots, Anita's and PM felt ribbon, Quickutz - alpha,

We would love you to join in with our colour challenge this week, just go to Mr Linky pop in your name and the link to your entry... can't wait to see all your Turquoise and yellow creations this week and don't forget to pop back to Stampin Chic tomorrow to see what the talented Mina will be showing for the colour challenge,

Stampin Chic Sketch Challenge #3

Good Morning and here's my take on this weeks sketch over at Stampin chic

With the brown card stock I have ripped the edges (against my ruler) and tinted with colourbox ink pad, I have stamped the background stamp onto this to represent the angled shape. For the main image I used the same background stamp which I have inked using one of the brush markers. Then with the same pen I also ran the ink around the torn edges and the stems I have hand drawn. I simply stamped and coloured the flowers using brush markers, then I cut out leaving a slight border and raised on 3d foam.

The butterfly has been stamped onto vellum and left to dry before cutting out. I have only applied the glue to the body of the butterfly to allow the wings to be free. Embellished with those gorgeous shimmer dots.

Click images to enlarge close ups.

Materials:
Paper: CCSR - the big one Paper pack, PM - natural earth, PM - vellum, PM - Red Hot Pinks, Doodlebug - chenille,
Stamps: CCSR - Doodles set, CCSR - Sentiments, Anita's - background stamp
Ink: Colourbox Qs, Vivid - black, Whispers - brush pens,
Other: 3D foam, PM - shimmer dots, PM - buttons,

It's great that you stopped by and looking forward to your take on this weeks Sketch ...and don't forget to pop back tomorrow to see what the wonderful Mina has created for this challenge.

Inspirational Card Sketches #13

Another wonderful sketch to inspire you from Inspirational Card Sketches. This has to have been my most challenging sketch yet, designed by the lovely Dawn!
I went for a circular card which proved a little tricky as I don't have very many things to cut a large circle! So opted for my circular decorative punch and punched the card base at 6" round. The patterned Paper has been punched separately to accommodate the card's hinge.
I have pretty much stuck to Basic Grey Granola papers and stamps, lots of stamping and hand cutting. The leaf vine ribbon was originally a pale green so I have coloured it using my copic marker, very pleased with how the colour took! Click images to enlarge close ups!

Materials:
Paper: BG - granola, white card, glitter paper,
Stamps: BG -
granola all natural,
Die's: Dovecraft - Magnetic Multi Shaper Lace,
Ink: Archival - black, distress inks, colourbox - queue,
Other: Leaf ribbon, adhesive bling & pearls, Sakura - stardust, 3Dimensional foam,

Hope you get inspired and have the chance to join us this week, thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic day ♥ HuGs Kim :)

The hearts are instead of the butterfly and I've moved that up a little. The sentiment has been stamped and heat embossed in gold (golden wedding theme). Click on images for close look!

Paper: Dasiy D's - attic heirloom, MM - natural card, white card,
Stamps: WoJ -
