Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #101 ~ Sketch

Good morning, thank you so much for stopping by, less than a week left until school starts, it will be the first time for my lovely dd.

We have a new challenge on the paperbabe stamps blog today...
My interpretation of the sketch may seem a tad loose, a little artistic licence but all the fun for it! and this is great for a man's card.
So the fabulous fox is in place of the circle. The background was a fun experiment with the Iso Fun and Dots on stripes stencils, I blended some distress oxides ~ mermaid lagoon, pine needles and mowed lawn. I then switched to black soot distress ink through the Iso Fun stencil.
I used wedding dress white memento luxe through the dots part of the stencil to create a bit of a bokeh effect, and added a few rings with a bottle lid and stamped some hearts. The sentiment was from the same stamp set, settled upon the yummy impresslit border die that I treated myself too.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #100 ~ Theme ~ GOLD

Hello, hope you're enjoying a typically wet summer hols like we are lol...
if you're having an indoor kinda day what a perfect time to get all your gold crafting materials out and join in our current challenge on the paperbabe stamps blog...
I treated my self to this fabulous journal cover die and had to try it out, obviously...
I've die cut the cover in watercolour paper, hot press so the smooth version.
The background was created with a few distress oxides through the pebble rows stencil. The colour was a bit darker than I had planned so I brayered some white gesso all over to soften and knock back the colour.
When the gesso layer was dry I used the dotty stencil with transparent embossing paste which I then covered with gold embossing powder as I didn't have the gold embossing paste I thought I had... and heat set until all the powder had melted.
So, I had drawn and stamped the front with the dinky female face and long loose wave hair, but when I went to add copic to her face it did not take well, the gesso was coming off on my pen nib and so I had to ditch that idea and move to recreating her onto a sticker sheet, which worked out alright although the sticker paper doesn't hold copic ink as well as bristol, well we have to try don't we? I painted her hair with deco art black acrylic paint.
I finished off my cover with gold embossed roses and leaves. I used some tissue paper I had lying around but it didn't disappear as much as I had hoped... Keeping with the 'gold' theme I have covered the inside with gold glitter paper.
I added a layer of matt medium over the front cover to help seal everything and give the whole thing a uniform finish. I haven't come up with a closure yet, I'm tempted to use a hidden magnet so that the front stays as it is.

I also want to enter this into a few other challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by it's so wonderful to think we've reached our hundredth challenge, couldn't have done it with out you all ♥

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #99 ~ Picture Inspiration

This Fortnight's challenge is a summery picture inspiration...

Don't you just love the summery colours? I trimmed my cardstock to a DL size inspired by the stick of rocks in the picture.
First I created an ombre background using some yummy distress oxides.
I then stamped the girl's face and drew in her hair, I went for a sketchy look with her bunches quite low down on her head. I've coloured her in copics to add to the sugary sweet colour palette.
The sentiment was double stamped with grey ink too, to add a shadow, not sure how well this worked though? I finished off the card with a few decorative elements like the hearts and dots, just to give it a cute 'summer fun' cartoon(ish) vibe.
