Christmas Cards...

Well I'm well and truly into making my Christmas cards now thanks mainly to having a go at the Holiday card workshop run with instructors Kristina WernerJennifer McGuireLaura BassenShari CarrolDebby Hughes, and friends...
I fell in love with this technique demonstrated by Jennifer, I've always love wood marquetry inlay and it was so fun to create. I used kraft card instead of wood paper, just because I'm hoarding my wood paper right now and I just wanted to give the idea a go first..
But then I had the idea to try it out with some cork, but couldn't find my stash, then I experimented with sticky back canvas, thought it would work well with the back being sticky...
But it was much fiddlier and the canvas didn't fit in quite as well the card did.
I have more Christmas cards over at the Paperbabe Stamps Blog...

Knitted Thanks

Here's a pretty quick card to put together...

I used the DesignA Knit to create the background panel
The colours are from the summer card camp this week and they are not my usual palette... but I persevered and was pleased with the result.

I scored the banner at the opposite angle then I had wanted but guessing it still reads the same! These wooden buttons I've had in my stash for years.
