The time has come share my secret. I am very excited about my newest venture, so without further ado...
Introducing...
Yay! This has been a dream of mine for some time, I haven't been blogging much lately just busy drawing and designing all in anticipation of starting my own stamp company. Paperbabe Stamps will stock high quality photo-polymer stamps and digital media with the hopes of branching out to dies as things progress.
I have been into the arts for as long as I can remember in any medium I could get my hands on. As an artist/designer all my life, stamping, blogging the last six years and designing for craft stamper magazine this felt like the natural course for me. I really love to create and it warms my heart to see what others create too. I know it's a big risk, but it should be fun. I'm enjoying the journey already.
So far I have my fantastic blogging friend Chris Dark joining me on my design team. Find out more about Chris on Tuesday...
I am hoping that you will join me on this adventure. Tomorrow and Monday there will be sneak peeks showing on Paperbabe Stamps blog, then each day after I will be introducing the stamps for the new release on Friday 5th July. When I will be hosting a Collaboration hop with some of my crafty stampy friends, I am extremely grateful that they have agreed to help me showcase my debut collection.
The Shop will open on Friday morning when the stamps will be available to buy! There will be prize's for the launch party too!

The challenges will run bi-monthly, on the second Friday of every month. Each challenge will take inspiration from a technique featured in that months Craft Stamper mag.
This first challenge features a faux airbrush technique using Distress Inks, inspired by Jo Allisons project in the March issue- thanks Jo!! Here's my take on it, The aperture I die cut from spellbinders hearts, I used acetate as Jo suggested I also added a little repositional adhesive to the back of mine to make sure that I line up the hearts! I bought a cheap bath sponge to create my faux airbrush and used evergreen bough and peeled paint distress inks.
The scrummy papers are crate paper portrait collection, and I used then to paper piece the acorn. The fabulous stamps are Papersmooches“Falling for You”, so fun for this sort of valentine's card.
I used spellbinders fancy framed tags two for the sentiment and then to help with my card design I was inspired by the sketch over at...
NOW the really exciting stuff... the winner of the challenge will get their work published in the magazine and will also win a stamp from one of our sponsors, Indigo Blu.
How exciting and you have plenty of time to have a go at faux airbrushing, as the challenge is running for two months, can't wait to see your entries.

Hi, well I'm Kim and I have been
part of the Craft Stamper Magazine Design team since 2009, WOW I still pinch
myself about that... Here's the post about my first published piece! I love being published in their fabulous magazine, and 2012 saw quite a few of my projects on the front cover Thank You! I hope I
inspire readers to create whatever their imagination conjures up.
I can't quite narrow my style to anything specific I've always described it as a fusion of
everything I love, like my next project will demonstrate.
I went for an arty piece for the blog hop, I'm so pleased with how it came out... totally fusion, let me explain
I started by printing this stunning image by the talented Krista from Saturated Canary.This is what I love about digital stamps you can print to any size.
Of course I used my copics, lots of airbrushing for the background, and even through the castle stencil, I used a few Lavinia stamps for the grasses and foliage.
The water texture was created by stamping woodgrain and heat embossing in clear. Then I airbrushed over, notice the castle reflection? I simply turned the stencil over. Using a clear copic I brushed lightly over some of the embossed areas to create ripples.
So one thing I really had to get a hang of for a feature in Craft Stamper was using embossing paste and stencils, I love the effect and very impressed with how well it works on glass, really stays on there (think I can see a few more projects on the horizon)
This is the image with the glass from the frame laid on top.
I also followed my technique of embossing paste on acetate adding a generous sprinkling of stickles dry glitter.
So here's the finished project...

Hello world... gosh, I KNOW, it's me long time no blog, 2012 was a very difficult year for me, I would have loved to blog more but it just wasn't possible, as they say you can only do what your capable of at the time!

This is a spookier variation using the same template you can find a copy here or here...
NOW EVEN BETTER then that is I managed to create a video tutorial... ok three videos, I really struggle to create these my editing is non existent and forget working out the voice over bit, I was seriously happy to find I can just add music over it!!! Then I've simply added notes for the actual steps lol! I hope you enjoy and it's not too long winded... any feedback would be great!
I really like this latest version can suit all those difficult males in our lives LOL!!! The book in the stand is still a working box so can hold some special keepsake!
I have one of these telephones in real life.. collecting dust now but it worked so well for ages. I've heat embossed the die cut with black powder yummy!!!
I would truly love to see any top hat makes out there...

I was absolutely delighted to find a brand new craft shop in High Wycombe, Carole's Crafts, the nearest craft shop is probably about 20 miles away. They have all sorts of wonderful things in there... some lovely stamps, beads, dies and yummy paper products, etc, I could go on, lol.
The reason for this is I will be teaching a mini class next Saturday 4th August... this will be my first craft class I'm very excited... It starts at 10am, a nice time of morning so join me for a couple of hours of fun and crafting. We will be creating decorative stamped magnets, I will show stamping & colouring and all supplies are included!
So if you're visiting the High Wycombe area it is in the Chiltern Centre... you cannot miss it, it's next door to primark, the same side as the Post Office. Carole's Crafts are still sorting out telephone and internet services so if you pop me an email or leave a comment if you're interested in attending I will get your name on the list!
