Welcome... to the launch of our FIRST Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge...

Simon Says Stamp and Show your Things with Wings,
I started with this stunning bird cut from grungeboard and fun flocked using two colours and the elegant flourishes as a mask... I've had the idea to make a dimensional piece since I first glimpsed this die, perfect for the bird to perch inside and a few fluttering butterflies. I have taken lots of photos, all around so you can see each side.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Pink paislee: bayberry cottage; Grunge paper; grunge board; shrink plastic;
Stamps: Wendy Vecchi: dimensional rose art;
Ink: Archival: black; Ranger ~ Distress inks: clear embossing; Adirondack: paint dabber: pitch black;
Dies: Sizzix ~ Tim Holtz: Cage bird; tattered florals; elegant flourishes; hardware findings; styled labels; flower 3d; Spellbinders nestabilities: circles;
Other: TH: hitch fasteners; memo pins; Distress embossing powder; Glossy accents; Tattered angles: glimmer mist; Adhesive stones; double sided adhesive sheet; fun flock; 3D foam;
Everything I've used is available at Simon Says Stamp store
There's lots of grunge paper and grunge board, inking and embossing. The hinges and key hole are created from shrink plastic, shrunk then applied distress embossing powders, they're the perfect scale for the bird cage!!! I HAD to have a door for the bird to be free... "our tomorrows start with the dreams of today"
I really hope you get the chance to join in our first challenge, the prize is totally scrumy and pop over to see the Awesome Design Team and check out their amazing 'things with wings' projects!!!
