ICS Sketch #12

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... another wonderful sketch to inspire you from Inspirational Card Sketches. I went very manly with the sketch this week, designed by the lovely Dawn,

This Father knows Best set is so good for men's card's, I have stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured with my copics (of course) then ripped the edges against my ruler and added a bit more tearing with my edge distresser, then using distress inks I have tinted around the image! The sentiment has been stamped and inked in the same way!
I have stamped the background houndstooth onto kraft card love the effect it can look like fabric with a bit more work! Mounted onto dark card and fixed a line of eyelets along the top! I have simply wrapped the natural string around the patterned paper a few times and attached with the blue button in place on the sentiment. Click on images for a close look!

Materials:
Paper: Gin-X - Anyone, Anyone? collection, PTI - Kraft, watercolour paper,
Dies: corner rounder,
Ink: Heritage - Black, mix of Distress inks, Copics,
Other: Tim's Edge distresser, BG - button, natural string, 3D foam, Big Bite and eyelets,

Thanks you for stopping by and my booty for the candy is building up so won't be too long till I actually organise it, LOL! Happy HuGs Kim x

Copic Colour Challenge and Followers giveaway

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter time with your family and friends thought I would quickly post my entry for the Copics Colour Challenge

Well, I don't have any of the copic colours this week and so have used the closest match...

RV23, for the crimson
E47, for light walnut
YG93, for the moss
and R14, R43, y35, as well.
So wanted to do something different on this card and tried stamping on this wonderful wood paper. It bled ever so slightly so tried colouring the image quickly using my copics. I have cut with my nestabilities and raised on 3d foam. The tag is the same wood paper and cut a tag and stamped sentiment, adding a touch of bling. The tag I have tied on with this lovely black floss. Patterned paper has been cut with Martha Stewart heart punch and some faux stitching.

Materials:
Paper: BG - urban prairie, white card, wood paper,

BasicGrey challenges #30 - soft centres

Wow! it's Easter Saturday and also time for a Basic Grey Challenge! and for this weeks challenge we would like you to take inspiration from your favourite Chocolates, so if your favourite chocolate is Mint chocolate... then you would base the colours of your card Brown and white/Green, sounds scrumptious doesn't it?

Well I'm quite partial to caramel centres, mmmm so sweet, I went for lighter browns, which I have cut into waves to represent the gooey caramel in lovely dark chocolate. I have stamped my swirlie stamps over this too!
The lovely Demure I thought went with the soft theme and with her flowing dress. I have coloured her in distress inks and used stickles over the dress which you might just make out the sparkle in one of the close ups. I have layered on top of the coloured image with clear embossing ink and three layers of Utee (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel). Love this effect it has a very glass like finish.
The sentiment I have stamped and heat embossed onto acetate which I have trimmed and used my clear foam to raise it off the card front. Click images for close up!

Materials:
Paper: BG - Bittersweet, watercolour paper, acetate,
Stamps: Sugar Nellie - Demure, Inkadinkado - Collaged Expressions, BG - 2scoops swirlie,
Die's: Circle cutter.
Ink: Memento - Black, Distress inks, Distress clear embossing ink, colourbox brown,
Other: paper flower - from the lovely Martine, clear 3D foam, MM - velvet brads, ep - black, clear Utee,

Thanks for stopping by and BiG HuGs ♥ enjoy your Easter, Kim x

Limited Supplies Challenge #2 - Keep In Shape

This week on Stampin' Chic....is

LIMITED SUPPLIES CHALLENGE
Time For a new challenge.... and my turn for the Limited supplies challenge. Can you believe its Friday? the weeks in 2009 are whizzing by and its Good Friday already...
This week I'm challenging you to keep in shape... It doesn't mean you need to go off and workout LOL, You need to pick a shape and follow it through all the elements of your creation...
Eg: If you chose square...
Card base: Square
Image: stamped on square
Embellishments: square
Sentiment: on square

Same would apply for a circle, rectangle, oval, etc etc! Hope you have good fun its a challenging one!

Well I chose heart as my shape and as it was a heart thought it would be perfect for a congratulations card. I used whatever circles I had at hand to create my hearts, different rolls of sellotape seemed to do the trick LOL!

I have used my scallop scissors to decorate the edge of main heart. The floral image I have stamped on a heart and cut out the central flower and raised on foam, all the flowers have been embellished with a shimmer dot!

I have used the hearts in the Papermania Sweet nothings set and framed CCSR champagne glasses, cut out and raised on 3d foam. Sentiment has been over stamped onto heart and heat embossed. Click images for close up.

Materials:
Paper: CCSR - the big one Paper pack, PM - Hot pinks, Doodlebug - le fluer
Stamps: CCSR - stamping chic party set, CCSR - Sentiments, Papermania - sweet nothings
Ink: Colourbox Qs, Vivid - black,
Other: 3D foam, PM - shimmer dots, PM - flowers, Heat it up ep - black,

I can't wait to see what you all come up with - just leave us a message and a link to your creation with Mr Linky so that we can pop by and admire.... and don't forget to pop back later to see the talented Mina showing her shape for the limited supplies challenge.

Thanks and wishing you a very Happy Easter, good luck ♥ HuGs Kim x

Shout Out to Sheetload & Show Us Your SheetLoad

This is my shout out to sheetload...

Check out the April cover:

Sheetload of Cards publishes a free monthly e-zine with a sketch and very clear cutting diagrams to maximize getting a stash of cards made from just a few sheets of your precious paper. How cool is that? Helps make the most of your time and the latest issue of Sheetload (April'09) is fantastic! Amazing sketch and creations by very talented crafters... you should pop over and have a look at the current issue...

Show Us Your Sheetload.

I just love the latest issue of SheetLoad of Cards and thought I would have a go at the sketch, I made this to enter to win one of two stamp sets from The Greeting Farm... but I notice that the cuttlebug challenges has the same sketch! So up to you which to enter.

I have made just one from the sketch I wanted my card a little bigger but intend to do a sheetload for some other cards I need coming up. So... was feeling in an arty stamping mood and tried stamping my miss Anya slightly differently...

Stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured using distress inks. When they're dry I have ripped the edges to frame her using my little ruler as a guide. Inked with brown tones using blender tool. I have then gone over the outfit with my sparkly stickles and left to dry (far too hard to leave it but the paper does go flat again)

So then the really fun part was squidging my clear embossing ink over the whole image sprinkling with my UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel) and heating till molten then quickly sprinkling on some more utee, so completed till I had three layers and a very glassy look. Love how it enhanced the ripped edges! Click images to get a close look! You might be able to see the subtle sparkle!

Materials:

Paper: K&Co - Cut N paste, watercolour paper,
Stamps: TGF -
Miss Anya Collection , lucky bunnies,
Die's: corner rounder,
Ink: Archival - black, Distress - embossing pad, distress inks,
Other: Clear UTEE, artcards - lace, pompom ribbon, 3D foam, stickles glitter glue.

Thanks for stopping by, I will be posting the new CCSR challenge tomorrow so hope you pop back to see, have a good evening ♥ HuGs Kim x

Copic Markers Competition!!!

What a blog candy!!! I would LOVE to get my hands on these 72 Copic markers. WOW!!!

Charmed Cards & Crafts have teamed up with Graphics Direct Ltd to bring you this fantastic prize. All you need to do is pop over to Karen's blog to find out more information. This one is most definitely a must enter!

So here's my entry, I have printed off the beautiful Holly, Pamper Time, but this is one of eight printed as the printer I'm using is SOOOOO bad that the ink changes colour half way through the figures. Well Holly didn't come out too bad and I have coloured her in with my copics. (I have remedied the printer problem but not the space problem, LOL) Well I changed her a little with some creative license... She reminded me of us girlie's when getting ready for a night out and so she has under her gown some fish net tights (or stockings) and a lacy black dress. Which I tried to create using a black pen and highlighted with white pen. Finished off with fully made up face and glittery trim Tee Hee (it's all about the fun!!!).

OK the mirror is a BG 2scoops chipboard shape which I have changed too using some acrylic paint left to dry and then experimenting with some crackle accents (seriously where's the crackle?) Two layers later and there's just the smallest amount of crackle. Need some practice with this one. Have used my fabby Martha Stewart hearts border punch which is a little hard to see.

Materials:
Paper: October afternoon, white card, silver card,
Die's: Martha Stewart - mini hearts edge punch,
Stamps: Charmed cards and crafts -
Holly, Pamper time, CHF - Kim Hughes -'Scripty words'
Ink: Bad printer, Archival Ink - black, copic sketch, Blue acrylic dabber,
Other: 2Scoops - chip stickers, adhesive bling, 3D foam, Crackle accents,

Thanks for stopping by and I have my fingers crossed really tightly to win a fantastic set of markers and good luck to all those that have entred (and there's Lots and lots of us) Thanks Karen too for your fab wonderful prize, Happy HuGs Kim :smt051 me me me.

Copic Colour Challenge #7

I Know!!! Two posts in one day and loads of photo's too. Well I had to get this one uploaded before the next challenge tomorrow over on Copics Colour Challenge and this weeks colours I nearly had... just needed to substitute the blue, I used a mix of BG01 and BG10.
So this card will be one of quite a few, us sisterhood 15 of the blogging sisters have come to our 1st year and we're making each other a card to celebrate. This is my first, only another 15 to make.
I have used the sketch created by Heidi on Caardvarks from the other week, It just suited the card and images perfectly will probably use it to produce a few more I thinks! Also, I got to use my JustRite stamper which is fantastic for creating any message, It would have been good on a smaller circle too!

Materials:
Paper: October afternoon, white card, orange textured,
Die's: Cutb'g - flower, Nestabilities - circles, rectangles, corner rounder,
Stamps: TGF -
Miss Anya Collection, JustRite stamper,
