Classic Lady

I made this for the UKscrappers July card Challenge;

"What I challenge you all is to make a card or cards using either one, or all of the following items:

Rubber Stamp

Brads

Ribbon

2 different Patterned Papers

If you are feeling really adventurous, you could make a set of four cards using all the above"

Well I used all the above...

First I stamped the image rubbadubbadoo Victorian classic lady stamp onto Patterned paper by DCWV old World Stack (loving this paper) then I went over whole image with Versamark and clear embossing powder and heated. I used this same method with the message stamp and matt and layered them.

I used my new cuttlebug dies to make the corners and the slider. Layered all onto Crate Avenue Collection Paper I have been dying to cut into this (loving this Paper).

Finished off with Ivory/cream ribbon and brads.

Blooming Birthday

MESSAGE BOUQUETS

The sentiments are in the flowers! was the challenge.
Flowers: stamped flowers, punched flowers, silk flowers, etc. Bouquet: 2 or more flowers Stamps: sentiments or letters to spell out a sentiment + any backgrounds and flowers Paper & Ink: any Embellishments: 2 or less Tools: any

This was really fun idea. I love this bright paper by sassafraslass "in stitches" and I felt the text paper and flower followed the challenge.

To make the blooms I sandwiched bluebell 2tone card to back of text paper and made 5 4cm circles plus one out of card. Then sandwiched bananasplit 2tone card to back of text paper and made 5 31/2 cm circles plus one out of card. I adhered the print circles to the card circle and folded the edge close to centre revealing the other colour.

The central message was another circle I stamped HOTP sentiment onto and embossed entire circle with clear embossing powder and applied to centre of bloom with 3d foam.

I cut the stem free hand from green card stock embellished with faux stitching and die cut hearts form the same text print paper and positioned with 3d foam to represent leaves.

More Challenges

WISHES FOR YOU

The challenge was to find way's to use a much neglected tool...your stylus! A stylus is an instrument with a round ball end that you use for dry-embossing and other ideas. If you don't own a stylus, there are fairly inexpensive and can be purchased at most craft stores. I've even used a dried up ball-point or gel pen nib in a pinch. Just make sure it really IS dried up!

For this challenge I punched the daisy from some cereal box card, (In Picture, need a bit of force but it will go).

I wanted to create a daisy chain effect, I started by drawing a faint line with the stylus and roughly judging where to emboss the daisy. I just followed the starting line and drew the swirls free hand. It's a little hard to see but I also put some glitter glue in the centre of each bloom.

I then glued some fabric onto more cereal box card, left to dry. When dry I die cut a large daisy and slide mount through my Big Shot. I embellished daisy

with an eyelet and faux stitching.

The Patterned paper is from DCWV Old World Stack and matt and layered onto 2tone Brownie card stock. The Tag was die cut, with embossed Wishes from HOTP sentiment stamps and inked the edges. Finished off with a little sheer ribbon.

I have worked out how to do a watermark on my images. Very pleased with myself and need to thank Kurtis Amundson (check out his web page stampinkub) for his tutorial although I only have Paint Shop Pro I managed to work out the difference. Thanks Kurtis...

TAKE CARE

I made this card for my Great Aunty who God Bless Her isn't very well and I wanted to try todays colour challenge. I didn't have any olive paper but did have olive coloured pencil. I used dcwv old world paper to get close to olive.

The butterfly which is a little hard to see in pic is stamped with staz on onto shrink plastic coloured with peel off pens (permanent) cut out and heated & shaped over tweezers. (I will post a tutorial for making the butterfly very soon).

I cut the circle with my scallop scissors and matt & layered on 3d foam. I punched the daisies form the different card stock I had used on the card and layered on 3d foam. Then added the bling.

GOOD LUCK - New Home

Ribbon challenge; there's not much ribbon but I like how the colours go with the patterned paper. I couldn't resist using the sizzix stuffed bear I stamped over him with linen stamp and layered him.

I stamped the home sweet home stamp and coloured and layered it with 3d foam. I created the hinge and attached with eyelets (because I like the flower on the patterned paper underneath and this way you can still look if you want). I coordinated the ribbon folded and attached with brads.

I textured the backing paper with distress embossing plate and inked the edges.The Good Luck is stickers, thanks for looking.

WARM WISHES

This was for the sketch challenge

I folded Navy Card stock on the length to create a different card base. I embossed the decorative paper on the inside of card & outside edge with swirl HOTP stamp & Blue glass embossing powder.

I triple embossed the warm wishes HOTP sentiment stamp with utee & 2 different embossing powders onto square of grey board. I matt and layered onto gold paper then mounted on 3d foam.

I finished off by stamping faux stitching on the edge and heat embossing.

This is a close up it looks a little like a tile.

INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

This was for the Inspiration Challenge on slipcoaststampers.

The Image was of a Christmas Bauble and when I saw this image for the inspiration challenge I thought of making an acetate card straight away to give the impression of glass.

I stamped over the acetate with white StazOn ink and some of the swirls with embossing powder.

I drew the tree free hand with a versamark pen and embossed with black embossing powder. Then I filled in with permanent pens and gelly glaze. It gives a lovely stained glass effect. The dots (baubles) are with gold glitter glue but is hard to see in the picture.

I punched different size circles in mix of colours edged in ink and layered on the acetate with re positional adhesive. I positioned the finished tree over with silicone adhesive so it wouldn't be so noticeable through the transparency.

COLOUR CHALLENGE - Hi brights.

I enjoyed this Challenge I like bright colours...

I stamped the flower on three coloured card stock and cut out at different sizes. I layered these and cut to fit in with the design on the card. With just ONE flower.

I scalloped the edge of the card with my corner rounder punch. I created a window with my frame and window circles on my Big Shot machine. With the turquoise card I textured with distress embossing plate and inked over with white chalk ink pad to represent water.

I die cut the frog an letters and embossed them with versamark and clear embossing powder.

HATS OFF

This was for the card sketch challenge on slipcoast stampers.

I really love the backing paper which is a floral embossed vellum. Soooo yummy I really wanted to use it.

I created the hat boxes by piecing and layering on the scallop matt I was feeling in girly pink mood. The stamps are from a set by See D's hats off to you. I only put double sided on the vellum underneath the shaped motif so the corners are still free.

Three More Cards

This is the first card of three that I entered into a competition, it didn't win, but was published in Complete Cardmaking magazine.

Supplies: Imagepac daylight stamp maker, acetate, stazon ink, gold leaf...

I used Imagepac daylight stamp maker and created stamp of my own art work. I stamped onto acetate with staz on and added gold leaf to the back of some of the image. I Matt and layered acetate onto gold textured paper, black card and fixed with red eyelets. Made 3D balloon out of polymer clay (fimo) and glued into position. Applied rub on hinges and peel off sentiment.

I'm affraid that this picture isn't very clear it looks better in real life;

I started with dp and cut into create a slit to fit the bookmark which has description of style printed on to safmat. The sandal embelishments I created myself with shrink plastic, craft wire and beads. It was also published.

This was a slightly unusual card. I really enjoyed quilling the feathers they were inspired from the fabric sample I used. The Kimono was a peel off applied to card stock & coloured with glaze pens raised with 3D foam.

Just Testing picture uploading

Thought I would say hello and upload some pictures of cards I have made in the past because my blog is looking very empty.




Okay, this is just a test to make sure I know how to post a picture. I'm hoping this one is the happy birthday dad.

Yippee second pic....

I made the circle appertures with circle cutter and raised the picture on 3d foam. The embossed metal embellishments I created by copying the tool images from a catalogue and free hand over them. The little pencil is coloured from a cocktail stick.
