Inspirational Card Sketch #27 - Sisters

Phew I have been so so busy the last week, I've completed eleven projects with instructions and a few step by step instructions but can only show you this one for now...
Here's my late DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....
Seeing as it was my little sisters birthday on Sunday... this weeks sponsors were very fitting and I just LOVE this sentiment it's so typically us and these two adorable characters are fabulous!!! I have tried to colour them as close to me and Zita as we were as children and she loved it!

Dawn has designed a fantastic sketch for us and our lovely sponsor for this week is Digiments. Michelle from Digiments is offering... (2) $20 gift certificates to Digiments. So hope you get the chance to enter.
Thought I should explain my take on the sketch... Because I really wanted the tree on my card I have turned the sketch 90 to the left. The square in the top corner I have brought forward to allow for the fabulous sentiment. The scallop I have replaced with the super cute grass (with glittered ladybirds) and finished off with a little ric rac ribbon. And me and Zita sitting on some flowery grass, it just doesn't get better...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE (((HUGS)))

The Teacher bookmarks...

Thought I would upload the teacher bookmarks for you to see, these were made to coordinate with the teacher cards from earlier.

These are so fun to make although I believe I have stamped the teacher image at least 12 times for these plus stamping for the cards... The bookmark is very similar to what I made for the craft stamper magazine (click on cover to be taken to the issue.) I have adjusted the sizes.

For these I used the same stamp set (kindly donated by the wonderful Janice and Andy at
Sir Stampalot). I made the envelopes from the library pocket sizzix die and sized the bookmark to fit in snugly.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: October afternoon: DETOURS Collection (detours1); PM: textured card; Stamps: Hanna Stamps: School Teacher; Ink: Memento: stazon: Black; colourbox; copics; Die's: Nestabilities: rectangles; ovals; Sizzix: library pocket; Other: Shrink plastic: clear; grosgrain ribbon; double sided adhesive sheet;

Thanks you for popping by, hope you have a wonderful weekend and the rain stays off LOL!

ICSketches #25 - Happily Ever After

Hello! It's Tuesday and here's my DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....

The wonderful Dawn has designed a fantastic sketch for you this week. I needed a wedding card and went for these gorgeous elegant daisyd's papers, such rich colours and I love the fabric patterns.
I ripped the circle for the background shape and used my tracer to give some faux stitches, I then sanded the paper edges to soften. Using the same paper I have stamped the pretty bells, cut out and used my copics to add shadow and highlights.
The cake topper couple I have coloured with my copic markers, to coordinate with the background papers. It's very difficult to photograph but I have used a water brush and stardust pen all over the dress and flowers. It gives a soft flitter of glitter you could try clicking on thumbnails for a close up.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: daisyd's: modern romance; DCWV: textured card; kraft; Stamps: TGF: Cake Topper; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; copics; Sakura: Stardust; Die's: Nestabilities: long rectangles; Sizzix: accent; Prima Flowers; Other: Pearl brads; Adhesive gems; pearls; tracer; 3D foam;
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get the chance to have a go at this weeks sketch Y, HuGs Kim =D

The challenge over at Roses on Paper is to create a gate fold card, haven't made one of these for ages and If you take a close look I even managed to get my sewing needle out to add REAL blanket stitching to the patterned paper. CCSR - Colour Blocking Challenge

The challenge this fortnight over at Stampin Chic Blog is colour blocking....

According to a few websites Colour Blocking is a new trend hitting the catwalks!
Pippa Jameson Interiors shows some great examples of bright colour blocking in fashion and homeware, Colour blocking has also been used in the craft sector and an article at ScrapJazz shows some examples of it used it being used in scrapbooking.
I wasn't too familiar with colour blocking and just went for blocks of patterned papers. Although cardstock is a staple of color blocking, you can use subtly patterned paper if you’re feeling creative. I have sanded the ripped edges to give distressing effect. I have made the butterfly from shrink plastic which I've coloured the back with peel off pens. Just LOVE these PM studded stickers. Click on images to enlarge.

Products used: Papers: CCSR: the Big One; PM: Jesse Edwards collection; Textured Card; core'dinations: whitewash; Stamps: CCSR: Doodles; sentiments; Ink: Vivid: Black; Colourbox: white; Peel off pens; Other: PM: Studded stickers; Adhesive stones; button; Doodlebug: ribbon; 3d foam; Quickutz: alphabet; Anita's 3D gloss; Shrink plastic;
Hope you are all well and have a chance at colour blocking, HuGs Kim x
