Four for One - Forever young, LOL!

Wow second post in one day and this card covers four challenges, I know...! but it really isn't possible to be able to participate in all the fabulous challenges out there in blogland! It is quite a challenge to make one for four too!

So I have combined four challenges on this one...

Started by using the Dotty Spotty challenge on The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday

Using the Copics Colour Challenge #19 to colour the TGF Wendy image
I have used this weeks Colour Create 21 for the papers
All brought together with the fabulous Sketch #122 on CPS

It was great fun to do this card and reasonably quick to make as all the details where pretty much taken care of. I don't have all the colours for the copics challenge and have used one as close as I could get. Which seemed to co-ordinate quite well with the colour create choice. The backing paper is lot greener IRL. The sun is super shining today so went outside armed with card and camera but it was so bright I was blinded taking the picture so I have missed the cute glitter I have added on Wendy's dress and the wings on Tinkerbell.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Crate Paper; white card; Stamps: TGF: Never Ever; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; copics; Sakura: stardust; Die's: Nestabilities: long rectangles; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Hero Arts: vintage collage Flowers; AC: velvet ribbon; Other: Lace; adhesive gems; buttons & natural thread; 3D foam;

Inspirational Card Sketches - #23

It's Tuesday and here's my DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....

the talented Dawn has designed another fantastic sketch for you this week. I went for it and cut into this gorgeous paper that I've had on my craft self for quite some time, it would have dust on it only it would often come out to be lovingly admired.
I followed the sketch quite closely but loved having the base in acetate. Although really not an easy thing to photograph. The sentiment I have cut with my Die cutter and applied to the rectangle. I have used my circle punch to create the decorative corners.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Heidi Grace; PM: textured card; acetate; glitter paper; Die's: Nestabilities: long rectangles; Sizzix: alphabet; leaves; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Punch: circle; Prima: flower; Other: adhesive vinyl; adhesive gems; gem brad; 3D foam;

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and hope you get the chance to have a go at this weeks sketch, Happy HuGs Kim x

TWO years, 347 posts and lots and lots of Wonderful Visitors...

It's My BLOGAVERSARY....

It's amazing how much my blog is now a part of my life, I bet we all think about our blogs on a daily basis. It's communication that is way beyond the telephone or popping to your neighbours house. This social network can lift your spirits and push your creativity and desire to do great things, I am very thankful for the wonderful experiences I have had in the last two years. It is a very special place that I can see others creating masterpieces. Cards to me are my little works of art and I love to make them.

But I started this blog with a whole different purpose... Yes, I wanted to showcase some of my artwork... but I got very distracted I have searched through ton's of pictures for a piece to show you...

This is my Dimensional Paper Illustration, this piece is a portrait of my cousin and her son. It's fictional as in the scene was completely made up by me but I tried to show the people as real as they are. I drew each piece I needed onto my old craft robo programme at the time. I used some of my decorative papers to enhance the figures. I was by no means a great photographer and the details are not very easy to see but I hope you get the essence of the depth I created with foam and layers of paper. Even the little stick in the back pocket of the boy's jeans.

I framed it in a box frame and posted it off, my cousin really loved it and this is why my blog is called Paperbabe just if you ever wanted to know LOL!

So I have started a new blog Paperbabe's Drawing Board which will show my arty works, drawings and possibly digi stamps. It is not yet public but will be very soon I am working on the deets. I hope you enjoyed this journey as much as me and thanks as always for stopping by and your fantastic comments.

Inspirational Card Sketch #22 already!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone and here's my DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....

Another fantastic sketch by the talented Dawn to challenge the mojo, we were all given a digi image (Lou or Sam) to use with the sketch and this is my take. The adorable images are from Lily-Boo's Boutique and they are sponsoring this weeks challenge.

I have coloured the image with my copics and cut out. The window was created with my nestabilities and I have had this gorgeous wish fairy die in my stash for some time and have not used it enough. I haven't edited my close ups, so they're a little dull!

Be Inspired - Be Yourself....

Thought it was about time I bought one of the fantastic Hero Arts stamp sets, this would be my first set (it's not easy picking just one from the amazing collection) and so I had a to have a go at the wonderful Challenge over on the Hero Arts blog "be inspired" which is also my first. Lucy Abrahms was the inspiration behind this card, I haven't cased just one but taken lots of her signature elements. Bright colours on Kraft and fabulous dimensional labels 1 frame.

Edited to add: Wanted to share a few of the techniques I have used here... the leaves I have stamped directly onto the patterned paper with versamark and heated with clear embossing powder, I then cut out and have adhered with a few of the leaves on dimensional foam. I have die cut the frame in core'dinations whitewash papers, embossed with cutb'g folder and sanded slightly. The bird I have stamped directly onto the base card, and two decorative papers, cut out and raised on foam. Thanks for asking and you're very welcome...

Wow!!! so much to Share and ICS #21

Where do I begin?...... Firstly I feel so honoured that Kazan and Laura at 2 Sketches 4 You picked my card for the card of the week I can't quite believe it, and am over the moon!!!

Now technology is out to get me this month... first my telephone line down, which meant two weeks without Internet access and now I am having some trouble with my hotmail account and I am appealing to you all here to say I'm very sorry if you've received some unusual emails from me, it appears that my contacts list has been violated and Hotmail abuse team have currently ceased my account until the problem is solved. I hope this hasn't effected anyone and I can only hope they will sort it soon. Seems nothings really very safe but you're all very welcome to contact me at kimpaperbabe@yahoo.com and if anyone has sent me an email to my hotmail address since last week I'm afraid I am unable to read or reply to you, very sorry.

So onto my DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....

Another fantastic sketch by the talented Dawn to challenge the mojo, well I was very inspired by Leandra's feature in this months Craft Stamper and just had to give it a go.

The sheet metal I have is self adhesive and so the embossing isn't as detailed as I would have liked. I had to de-tack the adhesive side with my stamp buddy. I'm pleased with the result and really enjoyed it. I have embellished mine with a vintage RubOn, how adorable are these two little ones? So thought the message went well LOL! Used October afternoon's fabulous papers again as wanted it quite fun and bright.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: October Afternoon: Ducks in a Row; Stamps: Squiggly Ink: crowns and Castles; Ink: Archival: Black; colourbox; Tim Holtz: acrylic dabbers; Die's: Nestabilities: Ovals; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Cutb'g: Embossing folder; Other: Vintage RubOns; adhesive sheet metal; Prima Flowers; adhesive bling; BG: button; 3D foam;

Thanks as always for taking the time to visit my blog and my blog candy is still open so all are welcome to have a go, Good luck! Happy HuGs Kim x

I couldn't resist these super cute October afternoon papers and stamps how adorable is that Duck and the butterfly too! I hope the little five year old will enjoy this card as much as I made it, LOL! A few details to share is how easy it was to colour the glitter paper to co-ordinate with the images using my copic marker. The images have been stamped, coloured and all hand cut. The girl's initial has been cut from fun foam, and embellished with a touch of bling.
