View Master Time

It's been a while

Hi I realise I haven't posted for a week now and it seems so much longer.

I've been very busy and have quite a lot to upload. I wanted to start with the melted wax tutorial because I've had a few questions about it. I hope it covers everything and if you have any more questions I will try and answer them the best I can. This is my first tutorial so if you have any feedback or constructive comments it would be much appreciated.

Tutorial - Melted Wax

Stamped Melted Wax

This is what I used for the melted wax technique:

Iron
Foil
Conte Wax Crayons (or other wax crayons)
Card stock
Rubber Stamp
Greaseproof paper
Baby wipes

First of all cover your iron with the foil and then turn on to medium heat to warm up (you can adjust the temperature to the best for melting your wax crayons).

Test your crayon directly on the foil to see if it melts.

Apply onto your paper don't rub too much or the wax will disappear. I have scrap paper underneath to save worktop.

Apply the next colour no need to clean between colours

Keep applying colour


You can move the wax with the heat and get different textures experiment on scrap till you get desired effect.
I've layered my wax quite thick so I get a deeper impression

Lay your wax-covered paper directly on the rubber stamp


Then the scary bit.... put your iron on top and smooth over. Don't leave your iron too long so as not to melt rubber.

You can see the deep impressions from the stamp better in this pic.
Your stamp will now be covered in wax, which I found easy enough to remove by placing greaseproof paper over and heating again with the iron the wax will transfer to greaseproof.

Then use your baby wipes to remove excess, my stamp is now wax free.

Thank you for looking and have lots of fun having a go. Why not try and experiment with other wax crayons and waxes to see if they melt this is just a guide and I just wanted to show you what I did to achieve this effect.

For Your Loss

It's such a sad reason to make a card and in fact this is the first one I have ever made. I cased a fellow stamper because I loved the way she used the tree stamp. Check out LovinTX it's beautiful. I just had to case it thank you!

I received my Lovely as a Tree stamp set yesterday I have been admiring it for ages it's a beautiful set. I cut a rectangle from thin paper and placed over card and secured with masking tape. I then applied the tree several times with Versamark and used with different colour blending chalks to give a soft misty look.

The Main tree was stamped using my pigment pens and I softened the ground with water brush. I have no suitable sentiment's in my stash for this sort of card so I hand wrote sorry and I have a little prayer for the inside. Thanks for looking!

Colour Challenge & CPS

I combined two challenges here The colour challenge on SCS and the card sketch on CPS

I think this patterned paper from AAM follows the colour combination as close as I can get. I stamped the car from clear stamps & the sentiment from HOTP with Brilliance coffee bean ink and went round the edges with cocoa.

The Ovals and the tab I die cut with Big Shot and inked, I placed with 3d foam to give dimension. I liked this sketch will probably use it again!

Vellum Butterfly

This was for the sketch challenge on SCS I used some embossed vellum to go across the card blank I adhered this by folding it over the corners with double sided tape.

The corners I cut from red paper with scallop scissors although it is a little hard to see under the vellum. The butterfly I stamped with Versamark and heated then I applied perfect pearls to give the image a shimmer.

The oval I stamped with flowers I then stamped two more on separate card stock coloured using my pigment pens and cut out. I layered to give a 3d effect using 3D foam (that I needed to cut quite small) as you can see in pictures.

Don't Forget to Wax

Waxy Wishes

The challenge on SCS for this was to incorporate wax into your creations. It took me ages to actually find any wax crayons because my little one has eaten all the rest but I found some Conte Cirolor wax crayons perfect for what I wanted to try on Beate blog.

I followed the tutorial and then I laid the melted wax design over my rubber stamp and heated it from the back. I didn't do this for long because I got scared I was melting my stamp But it's still fine (phew!)

I layered this onto turquoise card with red eyelets. I die cut slide from card stock and red paper. I then inked and applied a few layers of clear embossing powder to give it a gloss. I coloured one of the primas with pigment ink pen and applied with the other silk flowers. I'm really pleased with how this turned out as I hadn't tried the melted wax technique before. Like Wine

Technique - Cut Out

I stamped straight onto the card blank with black ink. Then did paper piecing to elements like lady's dress, hat and bottle. I coloured the rest with my pencils I stamped sentiment on the inside so that you can read some on the front.

Try a new Technique on SCS is to try cut out cards. I had tried something like his before it's very effective. For this I used the stamps from See D's Oh La La set, coloured cards stock and my coloured pencils and a little patterned paper.

I think that the card base needs some trimming to balance the image. Thanks for looking

CPS #23

Card Positioning System #23

I thought I would have a go at the sketch on CPS I used my Fancy pants Pollen dust stamps, Amethyst Floral Prints paper by Kate Knight, Ribbon's from my own stash and coloured card stock.

I stamped image with black embossing powder, trimmed patterned paper to fit and applied ribbon tucking it under some of the flower that i cut. Quite a simple card and I would probably like to change the colour of the card stock. Thanks for looking.
