Paperbabe stamps Challenges #117 ~ Sketch ~ Tiny Book

Good morning I'm here to share my project for our current challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

I created this teenie tiny accordion book, using the Eileen Hulls cute tiny book die, I've added lots of texture to the cover with some yummy cream paste through the cross hatch stencil onto some cream kraft card.
I then painted the whole cover in black paint and dry brushed some acrylics and added a hint of copper wax to give a smidgen more interest.
The front image has a pair of hands, which I coloured in copics, holding or sharing a rainbow of love, using an old stamp set for the rainbow. I added a layer of liquid wax first time I've tried this stuff, I think it's fab. The thicker layers seem to create interesting cracks, giving it a wonderful aged look.
The inside is waiting for me... I used the longest side of an A3 and trimmed it down to the height of the book and scored to concertina the cardstock into the width of the book cover. Whats left is a little tab length that I adhered to the inside covers and painted it black to disappear into the inside cover(if that makes sense?) then I added a second to the other side.

Paperbabe stamps Challenges #116 ~ Theme ~ Birthdays

Good morning I'm here to share my project for our current challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...
I was my daughters birthday yesterday, our first family birthday in 'lockdown'  but we had plenty of fun. My cake baking has taken a bit of a downtime too I'm completely out of practice, I think I ended up making a backup cake that really wasn't any better than the first, hahaha, I'm missing those favourite baking ingredients I can usually pick up...
Also the colour dried completely different overnight, what's with this paper? whatever emulsion they coat on this stuff makes it a bit hit and miss. I used distress oxides, I guess if I wanted to get this again it wouldn't work, lol. I did mask the yellow stripes to match the knit pattern up not that it's very noticeable in the finish.
Was it the colours or the cute round glasses that really give the card theme away? Maoleidigh is a huge Harry Potter fan, I might have come across the most amazing Harry Potter trunk with all the fabulous goodies inside... awesome gift she still hasn't taken the HP top off hahaha, all ready for her first day at Hogwarts.
So I treated myself to this Karen Burniston's awesome die, love it, so clever, I have lots of ideas with this die, I can't wait to get some creative time in soon.
