Paperbabe Stamps June release Blog Hop ~ Surprise Box
Welcome to our June release Blog hop...
everyone is loving the new stamps and templates, as of course am I.
This smaller size can fit in all sorts of projects, I have so many ideas.
Onto my little project...
After I painted the mdf in a couple of coats in prussian blue, I then heat embossed the face and neck in gold powder and with the wonderful perfect medium pen I used the templates to draw the hair, and set the embossing powder for each step. Love the contrast of colours...
Tada I bet you weren't expecting this to be a box...
...you see I had the idea of paper piecing this hairstyle but needed something to hold the dimension and ended up laser cutting myself this box frame based on the MDF ornate frame.
I've used distress papers for all the solid colours and some vintage pattern K&Co paper for her clothing.
I stamped the face in distress oxides so that it wouldn't be too dark on the papers, I have used coloured pencils to add shade to her face and skin and a black pen to bring her eyes and lashes alive.
I edged the inside of the frame with gold ink to coordinate with the embossing on the lid. I certainly had much fun creating this, I love that it can be hidden back inside it's box, good to protect the papers I guess.
Here's the hop line up...

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #95 ~ Picture Inspiration with New Dinky Face Stamps
I really enjoyed creating this for the current challenge over on the
The picture inspiration lead me too thoughts of gardens and pressed flowers and the imagery I felt reminded me of those pressed flower frames with the sheet of glass. So instead of glass I opted for some dura-lar film, I stamped the dinky face in stazon ink and used a graphic paint pen to draw the hair and details.
She was painted on the back of the film with liquitex gauche(new paint yumminess). It was quite some task to paint backwards with the shade and highlights first and then layer the skin tones. Then of course I needed to frame it so it would float and how apt that the rabbit hole frame has all those leaves around the inner edge. I also stamped the sentiment in stazon ink too.
I have die cut some teenie tiny flowers and made them into daisies, I then stamped some roses and leaves onto book-pages coloured with watercolour paint, fussy cut and adhered them to another layer.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, enjoy a wonderfully creative day and I will have another post tomorrow for our new release blog hop.
