Gift It ~ Quixotic Challenge

It's time for Quixotic Challenge and this weeks' has been set by the wonderful Rowena...

'GIFT IT'
Create a gift project - calendar/candle/trinket box/wall hanger/etc.
The Design Team have some wonderful inspiration to share...
I thought I would try my hand at altering an ornate plate, it's a little something I saw at Ally Pally show and as I have a melt pot I HAD to try...

I've melted some cosmic shimmer embossing powder and poured into the plate, then dropped in the rose charm waited for it to cool then secured the back.
I have inked up this little angel charm to age and distress it, so it toned in with the ornate plate!
Also the ball chain was shockingly bright and clean so I inked that up too!
The box has been cut and inked, I decided to stamp the sentiment on the inside...
then the beautiful tree & birds silhouette on the box top.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: fancy pants: roadshow;
Stamps: Paper Makeup: Nature's song set;
Ink: Memento: black; Ranger: distress inks: vintage photo; Alcohol inks;
Dies: Sizzix: shaker box;
Other: Tim Holtz: ornate plate; jump rings; trinket charms; ball chain; Cosmic shimmer: embossing powder; paint dabber; melt pot;

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!!!

Simon Says Stamp and Show....

Welcome... hope you had a wonderful weekend I enjoyed an exciting day at Ally Pally with my crafty blog buddies... I may have bought quite a few new goodies which I'm hoping to get my creative hands onto later this week. So it's Monday morning which means.... A wonderful and exciting

Show your... Distressed & Sanded Artwork
I recently purchased the fantastic I-top brad maker from Simon Says Stamp and couldn't wait to incorporate it into a project! Here I have stamped some basic grey manila papers with a spider form one of Wendy vecchi stamps... created my brad (this actually has a badge backing) and added distress inks on the edges! The flowers are cut from tattered florals die and inked with distress inks & perfect pearl mini mister mist! The white flower I have dabbed on snow cap paint dabber and in the centre some pearls and stickles!
The sanding bit isn't immediately obvious... the tag from Wendy's ticket to art I have stamped onto grungepaper with black archival I inked all over with distress inks! I then scrunched it and enhanced the creases by sanding them! I've distressed the edges of my card and some of the patterned papers too. A Wendy Vecchi butterfly was stamped onto acetate then coloured behind with alcohol ink and to finish, a shrink plastic birdcage.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, HuGs Kim :)

SimonSaysStamp and Show your... Grunge

 Welcome... hope you had a wonderful weekend it's Monday morning which means.... A wonderful exciting

My grunge is all about the grungepaper, LOVE this stuff!!! it folds, bends, takes inks and paint, it does shrink slightly with heating!

I have been eager to try Tim's Rusted Enamel from His Compendium of Curiosities book since forever! Once I had cut the pieces from grunge paper I stamped the fabulous flourishes then I went straight in with the technique before adhering the star together! I thought this could look good on a boy's bedroom wall which then led me to making these vintage inspired booties!

Also from grungepaper, I cut the pieces, inked them with distress inks, I ran the soles through with a texture fades folder to add texture and finished off the ribbon ends with Tim's tissue tape for the aglet(whatever they're called).
 Supplies: Paper: Grunge paper;
Stamps: Tim Holtz: Fabulous flourishes;
Ink: Ranger ~ Distress inks; distress embossing;
Dies: Sizzix ~ 3D star; Texture fades;
Other: Clear embossing powder; Tissue Tape; Checked ribbon; 3D foam;

 Thank you so much for stopping by I hope you feel inspired and check out the rest of the teams stunning grunge projects!!!

The Greeting Farm 'trick or Treat' Blog Hop

Welcome to the Halloween release from The Greeting Farm!!!!

For added FUN we thought we would have a little trick or treat hop!

I thought I would make a Halloween picture frame, I wanted something quite ornate to hold these adorable halloween trinkets! The frame is made from grey board, die cut and I've painted with black paint dabber! All the dimensional foliage has been cut from black cardstock! I then glued the pieces in place omitting the shrinkies and sprayed a very generous amount of glimmer  mist so it sparkles! I have printed the digi's onto inkjet shrink plastic, (my printer is still playing up with the black ink, although you can hardly notice!) They're coloured with copics markers and shrunk with heat tool, I used some clear adhesive foam to attach them!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Graphic 45: Halloween in Wonderland; grey board; Inkjet shrink plastic;
Stamps: The Greeting Farm: Halloween ~ witch; pumpkin; shedevil; skeleton; bride;
Ink: printer; Copic: markers*; Ranger: distress inks: vintage photo;
Dies: loads of them LOL ~ Sizzix: frame; flower 3D; branches & leaves; elegant flourish; spooky house;
Other: Tattered Angels: glimmer mist; Paint Dabber: pitch black; Viva decor: pearl pen; black & clear 3D adhesive foam;

I hope you enjoy the hop and of course I need to mention...
that two of you could win a Halloween digi of choice,
and there's one GRAND prize winner who gets all 5 new Halloween digi's!!!!

A Mystery Monday

Over at Club Anya and Friend's we have a new Monday challenge... where we 'case' cards from the Galleria...

This week we are also previewing some Halloween digi's, available from TGF on 15th September, here I've used Halloween witch.
Now I had trouble with my printer over the weekend and no matter how many 'new' black ink cartridges I put in, the black ink will not print! Arghhhh! SO it only prints with the colours which turns the images into a sepia outline, I just had to go with it and although it was a little tricky to colour I quite like the result!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Graphic 45: Halloween in Wonderland;
Stamps: The Greeting Farm: Halloween witch;
Ink: printer; Copic: markers*; Ranger: distress inks: vintage photo;
Other: WRMK: trims; Bazzill Basic: jewel templates; Viva decor: pearl pen; 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by I hope you stop by to see the rest of the teams awesome previews!
