Masculine Suit Card,

Hello I just wanted to show this card... I was asked to create one for a special friend's dad who turned 90 the other week, wow such a fantastic age...

The suit card is because he from the generation who always wear a suit, I have created the jacket to open at the button which is held together with a magnet. I have taken ALOT of pictures to try and show the different opening and the inside and the lining and the shirt. Wanted to point out that the tie is in fact a copy of a map of Ireland as he comes from there (although he had to miss his party over there due to the dust cloud!)
I have die cut the word dad which happens to fit in with the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers hee hee!!! I have stamped the houndstooth pattern directly onto the grey card with distress inks! On the inside is a fabulous PTI sentiment!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: October afternoon; K&Co; MM: Natural cardstock;
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farm: houndstooth Scrapblock; PTI: father knows best;
Ink: printer; distress inks: Black; Dies: Sizzix: alphabet;
Other: button; tracer; 3D foam;

Thanks so much for stopping by, I must dash and get things sorted around here... because I'm off out for the evening with OH, he's taking me to the 02 to see Jeff Dunham ha ha ha he cracks me up!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend HuGs Kim :)

Wild Card Wednesday ~ One of your Five a Day?

Good Morning so it's the middle of the week... I hope you're all wanting to create today as this week over at Club Anya & Friends' wild card wednesday is...
Fresh & Fruity

This week we are challenging you to use fruits or vegetables as inspiration for your card. My example is Fresh & Fru-Tea LOL...

I really wanted to use this scrumptious patterned paper as it has lots of strawberries on, and as you can see I have used the fabulous H/G Classy. (you could pop to TGF blog, to try and win her). So that got my creativity working and seeing as today is the Queen's birthday (born this day) I thought a little High 'Fruit' Tea would be perfect with a little chocolate dipped strawberry on the side... aaahhh.....
I have followed the wonderful sketch over at
Card Patterns. The strawberry I have made from shrink plastic and coloured the frosted side with my copic markers! So pleased how that came out, LOL!

 Supplies: Patterned Paper: October afternoon; frosted Shrink Plastic;
Stamps: The Greeting Farm: H/G Classy; Me time anya;
Ink: printer & Archival: black; Copic: markers*; distress inks*; inkessential white;
Dies: Spellbinder's nestabilties: label 1; circles; PTI: Bloom II flowers; Sizzix: sweets;
Other: Paper rose; natural hemp twine; 3D foam;

*Skin: E000, 21,13 & R20, Hair: E79, 47, 35, Outfit: BG07, 11, 32, R37, 46, RV23, 34, E40 for shadows and I use my colourless Blender throughout. *Old paper; antique linen;

Thank you so much for stopping by, Dillon has started back at school this week and things should be getting back to normal, I hoping to get time for lots of catching up on all your stunning blogs!!!

Monday Mania - Gift box and Cards

Good Morning, I managed to grab a little crafting time yesterday, as well as fun out in the sunshine with the children, seeing as the OH finished his shift, soooo nice and I got myself the fabulous new Spotlight stamp kit... All I can say is WOW the quality and stunning design is so awesome!!! I'm not much of a scrapbooker but so love this set, will use it for many cards I think!!! Today's Challenge over at Club Anya & Friends is to create a gift and card... I've combined the two hee hee!!
I have made a gift box to hold some stamped note-cards. Very simple inch depth box, simply covered with a little patterned paper and adorned with some shrink plastic embellishments and the fantastic heart tab tag (love).
I decided the butterfly in the kit was a little large for my design, so went striaght for the shrink plastic! they are adorable little embellishments I added a little bling too! This is the close up of Anya on shrink plastic I have coloured her the same as the note-cards and created a dinky chain from links.
I have created four little note-cards to fit in my box... each needs turning 90 degrees to allow for the thickness of the butterfly... LOL! The front I have cut the edge with 'on the edge' die.
I have stamped the adorable cute Anya and masked her off... to then stamp the textured strip image over the top in distress inks. While the mask is still in place I have inked the edges with distress inks and my blending tool.
I really tried to create a very soft colour pallette using the markers I have in my collection (I have requested the new pale pastel set for my birthday (tee hee). Managed to colour all four very quickly this way, less is more hey?
Can you believe I even managed to decorate this inside of my cards too? Woo hoo! I used some patterned paper, a little distress ink blending and one of the fabulous sentiments in the kit for the message!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: Kioshi; PTI: Kraft card; frosted Shrink Plastic;
Stamps: The Greeting Farm: Spotlight stamp Kit;
Ink: Memento & Archival: black; Copic: markers*; distress inks*; inkessential white;
Dies: Sizzix: Tim Holtz ON the edge: Brackets;
Other: Adhesive stones; natural twine; chain links; 3D foam;

*Skin: E000, 02, eye's: B41, Hair: E50, 51 Outfit: V01, YG91, E40 for shadows and I use my colourless Blender throughout. *Old paper; bundled sage;

Thank you so much for stopping by I hope you pop over and see the rest of the design teams gorgeous creations, HuGs Kim :)

Basic Grey Challenge 18 - Colour Combo 5...

Hello and welcome, it's Saturday which means it's time for a Fantastic Basic Grey Challenge...

This week we have a colour combo to inspire you, 'Phew' I really struggled with this colour combo, I think I should have tried to get the same tone blue, instead went darker. I even used gold metal paper which happens to fit with the DU2DS metal challenge this week... haven't used that for ages and ages, lucky to find it, but not really surprised I still had some stashed away though... ROTFL!!!
How adorable is this Greeting farm image? I just couldn't resist it and have tried to give the pony a golden fur. I have coloured her hair in black to enter it for the Copic Creations challenge this week. The sketch is inspired from FTL #86. I have edged the circles with gold ink!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: boxer; gold metal card;
Stamps: The Greeting Farm: Pinto Pony; PTI: sentiment;
Ink: printer; Archival: black; Copic: markers*; brilliance gold; inkessential white;
Dies: Spellbinders: Nestabilities: circles; Sizzix: branches & leaves;
Other: adhesive stones; 3D foam;

*Fur & spots: E50, 51, 31, 11, 13, 57 & R20, eye's: B41, Hair: 100, C-3, C-1, Ribbons: B45, 97, B000, grass: YG00, 93, I used B60 for shadow and my colourless Blender throughout.

So, I hope you are having a beautiful weekend so far, the weather is so much better this week which means lots of visit's to the parks, fun, fun although not much time crafting... so didn't get the chance to create a card for the Fabulous Sketch by Pam over at Club Anya & Friends Sketchy Saturday...

Thank you so much for stopping by, BiG HuGs Kim :)

Club Anya & Friends - Wild Card Wednesday

Good Morning, Over at Club Anya & Friends today is our Wild Card Wednesday Challenge and this week is an Inspirational photo...

As soon as I saw this pretty picture I remembered these Basic Grey paper's offbeat. I tried to keep as much white as possible, bit tricky really and I've used REAL wood for the sentiment and Handy Ian's oval backing. I blended a little distress inks directly onto the wood die cuts but think I could have been a little more brave and made it alot darker! Like the wood in the photo!

I Know!!! check out this awesome Handy Ian and how lucky... as it's my Dad's birthday this month, yes the day after  mine LOL, and yes he's a builder/contractor and I used to help out in the summer (NO! not to make the tea!) so I'm well aware of the mucky paint splodges that inevitably happen!!! I tried to splash a little paint on Handy Ian, a little flick with watered down acrylic, tee hee! My dad also has a beard and not so much hair but I was sure I would ruin his face... so have kept it to man shadow LOL!!!
My card is based on Mercy's fabulous sketch this week, although I may have squished it, to fit on my square card!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: offbeat; wood veneer; PTI: Kraft card;
Stamps: The Greeting Farm: Handy Ian; Oliver & Amelia(sentiment);
Ink: printer; Archival: black; Copic: markers*; distress inks; inkessential white;
Dies: Spellbinders: Nestabilities: ovals; Sizzix: rivet frame; EKSuccess: border punch; Other: double sided adhesive sheet; eyelets & tool; 3D foam;

*Skin: E000, 21,13 & R20, eye's: B41, Hair: E35, 47, 53 Outfit: E40, B91, 93, 97, E47, C-1, C- 3, C-5, C - 7, I use my colourless Blender throughout.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I have to say what a pleasure it is to open my blog page and see all you wonderful followers there! I'm so pleased I can say good day and thank you every time I open my blog, LOL! BiG HuGs Kim :)

A Passion for Papertrey - Material Girl!

Good Morning, hope you had a wonderful weekend! This card is for A Passion for Papertrey challenge, I haven't had the chance to participate for ages!

I've had this idea in my head for ages, although originally I was thinking of fussy cutting the leaves, then thought better of it as it would take Aaaaages (as Dillon often says, LOL!!!) Then I noticed a similar aperture in a magazine... typical hey? great minds think alike and all that!
I have cut the trunk of the tree out before stamping the branches and heat embossing with distress embossing powders. Then I  cut some cloudy shapes free hand to mask the background and blended some blue distress inks for a sky! I wanted it much lighter but I was a little heavy handed! LOL! The fabric part of my card is the felt grassy area! I have die cut a square in the card base so the aperture goes all the way through!

Supplies: Paper: PTI: stamper's white;
Stamps: PTI: Through the Trees;
Ink: Archival: black; Distress inks: Distress Embossing powder;
Dies: Sizzix: Tim Holtz: on the edge; Spellbinder's Nestabilities: square;
Other: Felt; ink blending tool; 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful happy Monday! Thank you too for your well wishes with the 'pox' LOL! Well I'm very pleased to tell you that we are over the very worst of it, their spots are drying up now, although we have to remind them to not pick (yuk!) as we don't want any little scars but I'm very proud of how well and wonderful my little angels coped, God Bless them!!! BiG HuGs Kim :)

Good Morning, wow I can't believe it's the weekend already the Easter break is passing by so quickly and there has been so much to do too! We haven't been out very much due to both little ones having chicken pox poor things, plus Maoleidigh's birthday, a spot of spring cleaning, but Thursday evening I found a little crafting time (bliss) and created a card for the Saturday Sketch over at Club Anya & Friends today!!!

I can just imagine Audrey running about in fields of wild flowers, can you hey? Pam designed a fabulous sketch to inpsire us and my crafty stash collection seemed to grew a little with these Basic Grey papers 'gorge!' tee hee! I have coloured her with... yes my copics of course and drew a little flower field for her to stand in too! It's impossible to see the yummy adhesive Basic Grey ribbon under the paper flowers, it's blended into the background a bit.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: green at heart; paper ribbon;
Stamps: The Greeting Farm: WS Audrey; Basic Grey: Tranquil;
Ink: printer; Embossing: clear; Copic: markers*; inkessential white;

BasicGrey Challenge #17 ~ Happy Easter and Craft Stamper Sneak...

Yes lots in the title LOL, I realise I've been M.I.A but I haven't stopped and have been too tired to even schedule these posts so I'm merging them all together... Here goes Phew!!!

The Fantastic Martine has designed a sketch for our inspiration, this week over at Basic Grey Challenges

I'm soooo late posting my card, I made this card for a young girls twenty first birthday, let’s hope she likes it! I didn't have a girly image to suit so I went for this digi image from Mo manning. The image is so adorable and she's typical girly! I have coloured her with my copics (of course) and matched colours from the patterned papers. I have tried to take a close up of the spica sparkle I have covered the dress with. The image is also quite long and so I've tweaked the sketch just a little to accommodate. I also made my own little bead charm/pin behind the flower, from the wonderful goddies I won from Quixoticpaperie, thank you Elaine. I used a little glossy accents to hold the beads inplace!

 Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: bittersweet;
Stamps: Mo's Digital Pencil; Cara Chatting; PTI: sentiment;
Ink: printer; Archival: black; Copic: markers*; spica glitter;
Dies: Sizzix: flourish; Spellbinders: tags; Nestabilities: long rectangles;  Martha Stewart: border punch;
Other: Ribbons; rose charm; Hero Arts: collage flowers; Large gem brad; beads and spacers; glossy accents; 3D foam;

 Craft Stamper Magazine, Sneak peek....

I'm in this month’s craft stamper magazine WOO HOO (thank you Katy) with a 3 ways with... 'die cuts' article and believe me three ways just isn't enough Hahaha! I think I must use die cutting for every card I make and if I haven't die cut a piece of paper in a day I think there's something I'm missing lol! I've tried to incorporate as many different ways within the three as possible. I have created stamps by die cutting in funky foam, stamped onto die cuts, I’ve die cut a mask, acetate, grunge board, grunge paper, chip board, double-sided adhesive sheet, shrink plastic oh and paper tee hee! I hope you find it enjoyable and inspiring! Click the side picture to take you to the website!

I wish you all a very special Easter, well it's finished now but I’ve had a busy, busy week, Friday was Maoleidigh's 2nd birthday and we had a day full of visitors and she had the best time! With HUGE homemade chocolate birthday cake and so many beautiful gifts which would fill another room lol! Then Saturday we went visiting for the day ourselves and had fun catching up with my sister who we haven't seen since November! It was wonderful to see her again, a bit like a wonderful Christmas day! So after a tiring day and a special Easter egg hunt planned on Sunday I knew she would be a little worn but it wasn't until after breakfast she came out in spots yes she has the chicken pox and they're everywhere, my poor little soul, on her eyelids and covering her face and all over scalp, they're also on her bottom and vagina too! It's so painful to see them spread so quickly, my brave little girl, so looks like we're staying in until nursed to recovery :)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Easter, BiG HuGs Kim :)
