Basic Grey - Pocket challenge

Challenge 24 - Pockets

Well Good Morning another Saturday and its time for the weekly challenge over at BasicGrey and this time we would like to see your pockets. You could have a pocket on the outside or the inside... could be a pocket shaped like on a pair of jeans or an envelope or hidden sliding piece, a slot with a tag popping out lots of things... It can be any sort of pocket, inside, outside, the front the back, so on and so on. The design team have done a fantastic job and created pockets of all types!

My Gorjuss Girls arrived and I HAD to ink one up and colour the beauty in, so then I had to create a pocket around the girl, far to many ideas for this one, but decided in the end to go for a side pocket with scallop trim. I used my paisley nestabilities to cut the trim and pocket shape! I have used double sided tape just to the right of the card to create a pocket for my tag! Tag I have layered with BG papers and thick card and sanded the edges to give aged look and don't you just LOVE this sentiment...

This is a great sketch by the fabby Dawn, and even better as again I found it a little challenging!!!
The line across the middle I went to town with a row of bling, oh so sparkly! Above the Sentiment which I have over stamped onto the edge of tree (just for Fun!).

These stamps from Kim Hughes collection are just the best... how much FUN? I stamped the tree onto the funky PP and cut out the crown, then the trunk I have coloured with my copics and cut out to paper piece the image. Raised on 3d foam.

The super cute dinky toadstools, butterfly, flower, snail I have stamped directly onto the PP and coloured with my copics!

Well its time for another challenge over at BasicGrey and this time its a colour combo, we would like you to pick one of the following colour combos for your creations (Skin and white card colours are allowed too),

So what are you waiting for, pick your favorite combo and get crafting :), but of course not to forget to use at least one item from BasicGrey on your creation...

Regina has very kindly offered one lucky winner , two downloads of your choice from her wonderful store, how fab is that ♥

We got the chance to use her amazing cupcake designs, I printed the cupcake out twice onto heavy weight cartridge, a mini cupcake, the sentiment and cherry. I have coloured using my copics, The cup case I have stamped BG Inspire heart stamps and shaded with distress inks using a mask over the cupcake top! For the shiny icing I have gone over the top with liquid applique and while still wet, sprinkled the top (the table, the carpet, my face & head, the whole room it seems) with sparkly glitter! The cherry I have coloured and cut out. The sentiment I have cut using circle and ribbon slider to create hole! The mini cupcake I thought would make a cute charm, so I coloured with copics and cut out! Then finished off with a good dollop of glossy accents and adhered to a brad through the ribbon!

Inspirational Card Sketch #4

At the wonderful Inspirational Card Sketches blog it's now our Third week and so time for sketch challenge #4

This is a great sketch by the fabby Dawn, and even better as I found it a little challenging!!!
I've been meaning to have a real good go at using distress inks for colouring and this is my result! I used my heat resistant matt to create a palette where I squidged the different distress ink colours onto, to then go in with my water brush, I had to mix colours to try and coordinate with this gorgeous patterned paper. I hope I've explained it (notice all my professional technical terms!!!) so that you understand! I have cut the coloured Tilda out and mounted with 3d foam!
The gorgeous chipboard flower stickers I have mounted on 3d foam and by using my embossing buddy dusted on the back to de-tack them, so they won't get damaged in the post! Then I finished off with a little glossy accents on the flowers and on the paper!

Materials:
Paper: Cloud9 - Hannah's Story, MM - natural, Cartridge card,
Stamps: Tilda (It's a Christmas stamp, that's good for everything!), PTI -mixed messages,
Die's: Sizzix - Bird and flowers, Nestabilities Ovals, Cut'bg - tag,
Ink: Impress - black, distress inks - mixed, gel pen - white,
Other: Cloud9 - chipboard stickers, American crafts - ribbon, 3D foam, adhesive gems, glossy accents.

Hope you will join in this week and make a card using the wonderful sketch. Remember you can turn, flip or do anything you like with the sketch. And it's even easier to show us your wonderful creations using Mr. Linky!!! Thanks for stopping by and am really looking forward to your creations,

Basic Grey Challenge - Hearts

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Challenge 22 - Hearts

As today is a very special day, we would like you to get all loved up in your creations and show us some hearts, it can be any size and any quantity of hearts you wish, and also not forgetting to use at least one item from BasicGrey somewhere on your creation.

This is quite a busy card for me but just went with the flow... I have coloured this super cute image with copic markers, I have gone over the colours with the colourless blender to create softer more muted tones to coordinate with the patterned papers! After cutting with a nesties die I have gone over the whole image with distress inks!

The flourishes are similar to a previous creation... I have stamped directly onto the dp and cut out, hand shaped and have raised on 3d foam. The little hearts are die cut and I have embellished them with a glitter marker so they sparkle just a little. The sentiment has been stamped onto a shape die cut from kraft card and inked edges, as has the heart button. There's really a lot of hearts on this card... the background paper, the pockets, the button, the sticker trim, the glitter hearts, and a little heart swirled in the bottom corner!

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - Bittersweet, heavy weight cartridge, PTI - kraft card
Stamps:
Sugar Nellie - Simon & Lola, Basic Grey - Ambrosia Halvah,Inspire me, PTI - mixed messages,
Die's: Sizzix - background shapes, hearts, heart button, Nestabilities - Circles
Ink: Impress - Black, Tim's - Distress inks, colourbox queues, American Crafts - Glitter gems,
Other: Basic Grey - bittersweet element stickers, Adhesive Bling, 3D foam, string from stash,

Thanks for stopping by and sorry I didn't get round to see you last week, hope to catch up over the next few days, Have a fantastic Valentine's day and enjoy a wonderful weekend with your loved ones, BIG HAPPY HuGs Kim XXX

2Sketches4You - Sketch #19

Well I don't know where the time has gone this week, seriously I think I started about twelve different cards and only finished a few. Here's one I have finished using the fabulous sketch #19 over at 2Sketches4you by the very talented Laura, thank you!

I've had my eye on this bird die for a long time and it arrived the other day, I have simply cut it from some BG dp and inked the edges! The frame that the bird is sitting on is a BG stamp that I have used with two inks and trimmed around. How nice is it that one of my little oval nesties fit's into cut the shape perfectly! It's been finished off with a gem brad! The leaf is die cut trimmed and stamped with sentiment. The main background has been inked with distress inks and then embossed.

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - offbeat, heavy weight cartridge,
Stamps: Basic grey - Bug/B2 Bitsy, PTI - Mixed Messages,
Die's: Nestabilities - ovals, rectangle, Sizzix - Bird with flower, leaves,
Ink: Distress inks, colourbox Q's - mix,
Other: Lace from stash, embossing folder, PM gem brad, 3D foam,
And to show you my eye candy for valentine's woo hoo

My fiance and son,

Thanks for stopping by, will catch up with you over the weekend, HuGs Kim x

Inspirational Card Sketches #3

At the wonderful Inspirational Card Sketches blog it's our second week and sketch challenge #3

This is a great & easy sketch by the fabby Dawn to follow and then this paper did most of the work for me. Love the colours and the pattern, the pages are double sided so lovely on an acetate card!
I have gone for a manly card, quite pleased with the result it wasn't how I imagined. I am so happy with the foam alphabet, the "super cool" is a rubon, as is the damask (representing one of the semi circles).
The die cut swirl in the collection kit I was thinking of like a spring and added the paper gear with a small brad, I have created layers using 3D foam. Acetate cards are not easy to photograph!

Materials:
Paper: Crate paper - Static collection kit, funky foam - cream, textured pearl - brown
Stamps: None used rubons - American crafts mini marks Accessories book two,
Die's: Sizzix - broadway alphabet, gears, Nestabilities square, circles,
Ink: colourbox - white,
Other: Letraset sticky sheet, 3D foam (black and white), small brad, WRMK - designer gromlets - party!
hope you will join in and make your own card using the wonderful sketch. Remember you can turn, flip or do anything you like with the sketch. And it's even easier to show us your wonderful creations using Mr. Linky that way we can see your creations directly!!!

Thanks for stopping by and am really looking forward to your creations,
