Rub me tender, rub me sweet...

Caardvarks - Rub Ons...

Well, you can probably guess what's up at Caardvarks! Rubons, baby. Show us some fun work with ---Rubons---! Please have your entries linked in the comments section of this post by November 30th.

Well hopefully I'm not too late for this entry....

I started with Sassafras lass ('in stitches') papers, I used frolic for the base card and some of the other colours for the backing of sentiment and the flower.

I have used RubOn alphabet for the sentiment, I then cut with my nestabilities and put it through flower embossing folder. I backed it with scallop nestabilities in Brownie.

I die cut decorative accent in glitter card and adhered to front. I put the sentiment on 3d foam.
The flower is die cut from some of the stitches paper and coordinating vellum, I like the soft look this gives. The large Brad in the centre I have Rubbed On another sentiment. From HOTP words, hearts & flowers.
Thanks for stopping by!

Papertake - Tree

Papertake - O Christmas Tree!

Wow, that was a good response! We had some lovely cards again this week! Thanks to everyone who took part!!This weeks challenge is Christmas Trees! (sorry, I know that one of the other challenge blogs have done tree's this week but the challenges are set for the design team a week in advance! Sorry folks!) Anyway, if you'd like to take part, we'd love to see your creations!

I created the frame with my nesatabilities and the tree from cuttlekids die. Added some glitter and raised on 3d foam to DCWV paper.

OOOOOOooooooooohhhhhhhh - New Stash.....

Well I have the privilege of receiving the full set of Nestabilities dies in the post over the weekend and have not stopped playing... Cutting paper, embossing paper, cutting paper embossing paper, cutting paper and stamping on it.....

I have created a few cards but have even more bits that aren't finished, will upload more when I do....

Thank for stopping by!

DCM challenges

I've covered two challenges here, I haven't spent much time blogging but have been playing with paper and have quite a lot to upload....
DCM - Golden Highlights

Going back over my cards I seem to have a liking for gold as an accent colour. So this week I'd like you to make a card for any season or occasion but must include gold somewhere. It could be a brad, metallic card, heat embossing, ribbon, anything at all as long as it's gold.

Santa's Little Extra Helper no 5: Baubles, Bells & Bows

The cards that are being shown for Keryn's Golden Highlights dare are beautiful and show just how the smallest touch of gold can lift a design and make it extra-special. There's still plenty of time to join in with that one as we're only halfway through a DCM week! However, if you're ready for another little challenge, or still need some help getting those Christmas cards made then Santa's Little Extra Helper is here again with a new theme for you to work on
This week we'd love to see you making cards on the theme of
Baubles, Bells & Bows
See how much of a dent you can make in the "I need to make X number of Christmas cards" list with this one.

I saw this idea in a magazine and just had to try my interpretation.
stars were die cut and glued o gold mirri and I cut them into circles raised on 3d foam. The sentiment and string & bows were drawn on free hand.
Paper from DCWV and embellished with gold peel off sticker.
Thanks for looking, come back soon!

Baby Girl

Pocket card

I have wanted to try a pocket card like this and was asked to make a card for a friend, so gave it a go. Most of it is die cuts (surprise!) I just love using them, can't help myself!

It's quite simple to create, I used the length of 12" x 4" this way it fits into c5 envelope when folded.
It is folded with a flap at the front. I only used small pieces of patterned paper to cover front & flap and a little on the insert... to allow room for writing message.
The back was a little trial & error but I'm quite pleased with result. It opens flat for posting and allows the card to stand at a slight angle.
This bear must be one of my favourites I find that I go for it quite a lot, it's just too cute. I cut and layered in different colours and even added a little patch & perforated down the front.
Thanks for looking and all your thoughtful comments!

Curvy card Attempt

Curvy Pile of Parcels

This card is to cover two challenges... Curvy Card Competition over at Louly & the dare over at Daring cardmakers...

Santa's Little Helper is still trying to motivate us into getting those Christmas cards made and this week our subject is

Piles of Parcels

we'd like you to put some gorgeous, tempting, beautifully wrapped Christmas parcels on your cards this time.

Unfortunately I don't have the template for the curvy card but attempted it myself it's free hand drawn and cut. The hinge is at the top so it's different really. Thanks & congrats to Louly for the design.

I had fun with all the little parcels, lots of papers and glitter gel pen of course!

Thanks for looking and all of your wonderful comments!

Acetate Snowflakes

Papertake Snowy Days...

Hi everyone, thanks for all the great cards you've made for the challenge last week, they really are lovely! This weeks challenge is Snow! Snowy scenes, snowmen, snowflakes etc etc. Come on everyone! Let it snow!!
Here's my snowy creation, I started with the acetate so I had a floaty scene. I scored and stamped the snowflakes and swirls with white StazOn.
I ripped the white textured paper to create fallen snow and the other embellishments are die cuts with lots of glitter (of course!). I placed a folded sheet of snowflake paper to give room for writing your sentiment!
Thanks for looking and for all your wonderful comments, I love them! Pop back soon, Kim

DCM - Getting Corrugated

Getting Corrugated...

Hi all :) This week it is Jo here to set the dare...

I seem to have developed a little bit of a fixation with old cardboard boxes....! My dare this week is to use some corrugated card on your card - it could be corrugated craft card or an old box etc. taken to pieces :) You could make the card blank from it or die cut shapes etc...

Well, like Jo I seem to have old cardboard boxes and new ones all over the place so for materials I had loads to work with!

The Patterned paper is from DCWV Christmas.
I die cut three frames from the slide mount and coin holder die in textured white and inside red. Raised them on 3d foam.

I die cut the holly, word and stocking in the corrugated card applied to frames and applied glitter all round the edges.

The sentiment from Anna Griffin I stamped & embossed in white ep. The red is cut from cuttlebug ribbon slide and I cut an oval in the white textured card for behind. I doubled the ribbon, attached to card and of course added even more yummy glitter!

Thanks for looking and come back soon!

DCM - Little Extra

Snowman Fun - DCM Snowmen and Snowflakes

Well, after that little bit of excitement it's back to the usual Tuesday routine and as it's Tuesday, it must be time for a DCM Little Extra Challenge! We've dragged Santa's Little Helper out of his cosy armchair again this week in an effort to help you (and us) get those Christmas card stocks heading in the right direction. This week we'd like you to make and share cards on a theme of...
Snowmen and Snowflakes

So looking through my stash I was surprised to find... No decent snowmen, so decided to make my own.
I die cut different sized circles (head and body), The arms are the tree trunks from cuttlekids trees, the carrot nose is from photo anchor trimmed, the hat and buttons is from the doodle die Santa, the scarf I free hand cut, the eyes are hole punch and the smile I drew with brown pen.

I have the snowflake cuttlebug die so that bit was easy, I used some embossed vellum.

The back ground is a yummy navy diamond dust by paper adventures it's sooo sparkly and it's bit hard to capture on the photo but I got in a close as I could without blurring the image.

I also put glitter on the snow on the trees and the snow and his hat.

Thanks for stopping by, come back soon...

Kim

Started Christmas Gifts

I embellished these bags for two lovely little girls for their Christmas gifts. Each one has a dress on the back and their names on the front.
All the pieces have been die cut from fabrics that are fused on bondaweb. The easiest thing I could think to do and they came out really well.

The flowers and bags have been attacked by the crop-a-dile (this machine is the BEST)

In the picture I haven't put the names on yet just so I can keep the surprise but they are now attached under the flowers so as sisters they know who's is who's.
Each bag will hold one of the pretty rag dolls I just couldn't resist!
Thanks for stopping by I will upload more creativeness when it's done!

Get Well Soon

Operation: Get Well!

I thought I would have a go at the challenge over on Papertake:
Your mission, should you chose to except it, is to make something with a Get Well theme! This could be a Get Well card, speedy recovery, under the weather etc etc.
My mum is a little under weather so this is for her...

I am loving this paper, I think it's called playfull.
I also used some DCWV old world (greeny colour).

I die cut the flowers and layered, then fixed them with an eyelet (I am loving my crop-a-dile finding any excuse to use it!) Applied stone in centre of each, they do sparkle much better IRL.

I die cut the decorative strip and applied either side of the message (HOTP sentiment) stamped & embossed.

The butterfly I cut by hand, applied stones to wings and attached to front with 3d foam.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon, Have a good Tuesday!

DCM - and Cut!

Gumball Treat

This is the dare from DCM:

We've all loved looking at all your beribboned cards for Christmas and how you've cooked up the Little Extra Recipe. As for who's won the luscious ribbon giveaway, we're going to keep you in suspense a little longer! This week its Tracie setting the dare and it is to make a card and CUT!

Any theme goes, so for those of you needing a break from Christmas crafting this is the perfect opportunity to have a change. All styles are welcome but there MUST be an element of handcutting somewhere. It could be a greeting, a shape, letters printed on your pc and handcut, anything goes as long as you did it by hand.

This was a fun challenge I have been wanting to use this stamp for ages and the dare just fit it perfectly. I stamped and heat embossed the image twice in full and four of the base half.
I then stamped & masked the gumballs in different colours and coloured the base in turquoise pigment pen. I then hand cut each piece and assembled with foam to create a 3d picture.
I then put glossy accents on the top half to give glassy look! The colours I picked to coordinate with the yummy glitter backing paper.
Thanks for stopping by!
